Hills to the highest of Cooper's Knobs; thence to and
by the centre of a stream rising on the western side
of Cooper's Knobs to its junction with the Halswell;
thence along the left bank of the Halswell River to
Lake Ellesmere; thence South-westerly by a right
line to the ocean at Taumutu; thence by the ocean
to the mouth of the Rakaia River; thence by a line
along the centre of that river to its source near
Whitcombe Pass; thence by a line to and along the
summit of the Southern Alps to the saddle of the
Teremakau, the starting point.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
COUNTY OF ASHLEY.
BOUNDED towards the North by the Amuri and
Cheviot Counties, from the source of the Hurunui to
its mouth; towards the East by the ocean to the
mouth of the Waimakariri River; towards the South
by a line along the centre of that stream to a point
in line with the northern boundary of Run No. 653;
thence by said line and boundary, the Puketirake
Range, and the summit of the range leading from
Ashley Head to the saddle; and thence by a right
line to the source of the Hurunui, the starting point.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls,
County of Hobson.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fifth day of July, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that cer-
tain things required to be done by "The
Counties Act, 1876," in connection with the making
and revision of the county roll of the County of
Hobson, cannot be done by or within the times re-
quired by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power
and authority vested in him by the two hundred and
eleventh section of the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the
doing of the said things in connection with the county
roll of the said County of Hobson, and doth declare
that the time for the doing of such several things
shall be those which are specified in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- For the preparation of the county roll: On or
before the 1st August, 1881. - Roll shall be open for inspection: From the
2nd August, 1881, until the 16th August, 1881. - Objections to roll received: Until the 23rd
August, 1881. - Day appointed for revision of roll: Some day
on and after the 24th August, 1881, but Revision
Court shall not sit after the 14th September, 1881. - Roll shall come into force: On the 1st October,

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said Act"),
it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris, who or
any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council, if he think fit, to order that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or interest therein, as shall to
the Governor in Council be shown to belong to such infant, or lunatic, or other person under legal disability,
shall be vested in trustees as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act Amendment Act, 1877," it is provided
that in all cases in which no trustee of such estate of any infant Maori prior to the passing of the said
last-recited Act has been appointed, the Governor may appoint such trustee only on the recommendation
of a Judge of the Native Land Court:
And whereas in pursuance of orders bearing dates as contained in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, made by the Judges named in the second column thereof, the persons named in the third column
were recommended to the Governor as trustees under the said Acts on behalf of the persons named and
under the disability described in the fourth column, in respect of the lands described or referred to in the
fifth column:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by
the said Acts, doth hereby order that the interests and shares of the persons under disability named in
the Schedule hereto in the several blocks of land referred to therein shall be and remain vested in the
several persons named in the third column thereof as trustees within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Acts for the said persons respectively during the term or terms of their minority or other
disability; the said parcels of land having the areas and boundaries set forth in the Crown grants,
certificates of title, and memorials of ownership affecting the same, and in the record maps in the office of
the Surveyor-General,
