Gold Fields Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.

Wellington, 25th January, 1881.
IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Go-
vernor has been pleased to pronounce the under-
mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and that the
ground is now open for application as if no lease of
the said ground had ever been applied for:-
Richard Harcourt and others; 7 acres 1 rood
18 perches, District of Inangahua, Nelson South-
West Gold Fields. No. 9R.

"Friendly Societies Act, 1877."---Advertisement of
Cancelling.

Wellington, 26th January, 1881.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of
Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 11
of "The Friendly Societies Act, 1877," by writing
under his hand dated the 25th day of January, 1881,
cancelled the registry of the Central Volunteer Fire
Brigade society, register No. 66, held at Wellington,
on the ground that the said society has ceased to
exist.

The cancelling is without prejudice to any
liability incurred by the society, which may be en-
forced as if such cancelling had not taken place.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regu-
lations made under that Act for the granting of
leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified
that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands
for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified
in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Charleston on or
before the 12th day of February, 1881.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Charleston.

SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Timothy J. O'Leary and party. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business:
"The Dublin City Company." 7 acres, at north end
of Backlead, Charleston, in the Nelson South-West
Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twenty-
first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one.

sity of New Zealand that, in accordance with the
provisions of "The Auckland College and Grammar
School Act, 1880,"

School has been held, and that the following persons,
