Setting apart Land in Westland for Agricultural
Leases.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to
cause Crown lands situate within a gold field to be
selected and set apart for the purpose of granting
agricultural leases thereon and therefor:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are Crown lands subject to be dealt with
under the provisions of the said Act, and it is deemed
expedient to set the same apart for the purpose of
granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor;
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
select and set apart, for the purpose of granting
agricultural leases thereon and therefor, the lands
described in the Schedule hereto; and do fix Tuesday,
the first day of March next ensuing, at the Warden's
Office at Okarito, as the day and place on which the
said land shall be open for application in allotments, as
surveyed and marked on the official map in the office
of the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Hokitika.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 60 acres, more or less, situated in
Block XIV. on the map of the Mount One One
Survey District. Bounded towards the North-west by
the road along the sea-coast; towards the South
by a straight line, and by a road along the salt-water
lagoon; towards the South-east by a line parallel
with the western boundary; and towards the North-
east by a line to include the quantity, and to cover
improvements known as "Adamson's." Subject to
necessary reserves, and exclusive of rights under
"The Mines Act, 1877."
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Auckland,
this twentieth day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one.

Extending Time for Appointment of Valuer and for
Preparation of Valuation List, Portobello Highway
District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, this eleventh day of
January, 1881.
Present:
THE HONORABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Rating Act, 1876," it is
enacted that if the local body or the Assess-
ment Court fails through misadventure or accident
to do anything which by that Act is required to be
done in a fixed time, the Governor may, by an Order
in Council, published in the Government Gazette
and publicly notified, extend the time for doing such
thing, and may by any such order validate anything
which may have been irregularly done in matter of
form, so that the intent and purpose of the said Act
may have effect: And whereas the Portobello Road
Board, being the local body of the Portobello Road
District, constituted under an Act of the Province of
Otago intituled "The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,"
have failed by misadventure to appoint a valuer or
valuers as provided by the sixth section of "The
Rating Act, 1876," and no valuation list for that
district as by that Act prescribed has been prepared,
signed, and transmitted:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The
Rating Act, 1876," and of every other power and
authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, extend the time for the
appointment of a valuer or valuers, and for preparing,
signing, and transmitting the valuation lists for the
said district, until not later than the twenty-ninth
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one; and, with the like advice and consent, do
hereby order that such valuation list shall be de-
posited, lie open for inspection, public notice be
given, ratepayers and others may inspect such
valuation list and take copies thereof, and make
objections thereto, as provided by the said Act, from
the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, to the first day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one; and I
do hereby, with the like advice and consent, extend
the time accordingly.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of January, 1881.

THE HONORABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the eleventh section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the
reserve made for public recreation in the Provincial
District of Taranaki, and known as the Manutahi
Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought
under the operation of and declared to be subject
to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act,
1860," and its amending Acts; and such domain
shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt
with in manner directed by the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 3 acres
3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being part of south-
western portion of Section No. 9 on the map of the
Manutahi Settlement, Hawera Survey District.
Bounded towards the North-east by a public road,
830 links; towards the South-east by other part of
Section No. 9, 453 links; towards the South-west by
Section No. 8, 830 links; and towards the North-
west by a public road, 454 links.
