NOTICE.-His Honor the Chief Justice has, this
fourth day of June, 1881, appointed GEORGE
SAMUEL EVANS DALE, of Sydney, a Solicitor of the
Supreme Court of New South Wales, to be a Com-
missioner in the said colony for the purpose of
taking all oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the
second section of "The Commissioners of the Su-
preme Court Act, 1875," mentioned.

NOTICE.-His Honor Sir James Prendergast,
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, has appointed CHARLES EDWIN FEA-
THERSTONE, Esq., of Hobart, in the Colony of
Tasmania, Solicitor, to be a Commissioner under
"The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act,
1875," for the purpose of taking in Tasmania aforesaid
any affidavit, oath, or affirmation, and for the purpose
of taking acknowledgments of married women.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Lyell on or before
the 19th day of July, 1881.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lyell.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: John Smith and John McDonnell.
Style under which it is intended to conduct the busi-
