Land taken for Portions of the Wellington to Foxton
Railway (Kaiwarra and Crofton Sections).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by Proclamations issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of portions of the line of railway
from Wellington to Foxton (Kaiwarra and Crofton
Sections), being one of the railways specified in "The
Public Works Act, 1879," was defined: And whereas
pursuant to the one hundred and twenty-fifth section
of "The Public Works Act, 1876," the Minister for
Public Works has caused to be made and, on the
second day of September, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine, and the third day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty, to be de-
posited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme
Court at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, such maps and plans as were necessary
to explain the said portions of the said line of rail-
way and the land through which the same passes, and
such maps and plans were referred to in such Pro-
clamations as aforesaid: And whereas "The Public
Works Act, 1879," enacts that such of the railways
mentioned therein as are unfinished may be com-
pleted under the provisions of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876 Amend-
ment Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act,
1879: And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the said
portions of the said line of railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred by the sixth
section of "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1878," and of every power and authority in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said
portions of the said line of railway.
SCHEDULE.
HARBOUR DISTRICT.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 1 rood 29 perches, being portion of
Subdivisional Section No. 99 of Section No. 3,
commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary-
line of said section 702 links from the south-eastern-
most corner. Bounded by lines as follows: South-
easterly, 225 links; South-westerly, 52 links; North-
westerly, 399 links; North-easterly, 155 links; South-
easterly to commencing point, 136 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 25 perches, being portion of Sub-
divisional Section No. 98 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary
of said section 486 links from the southernmost
corner. Bounded by lines as follows: South-easterly,
88 links; North-easterly, 171 links; North-westerly,
94 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 172
links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods 15 perches, being portion of
Subdivisional Section No. 98 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary-
line of said section 575 links from the southernmost
corner. Bounded by lines as follows: South-easterly,
310 links; North-easterly, 178 links; North-westerly,
386 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 171
links.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 acres and 15 perches, being portion
of Section No. 2, commencing at a point on the
western boundary of the Hutt Road 1315 links in a
northerly direction from Section No. 101, Wadestown.
Bounded by lines as follows: South-westerly, 324
links; North-westerly, 501 links; South-westerly,
485 links; North-westerly, 606 links; Westerly, 138
links; North-easterly, 51 and 79 links respectively;
South-easterly by the north-western boundary of
road, the description of which is published in a
notification in Gazette No. 21, of 31st March, 1881, to
commencing point, 649 and 952 links respectively.
Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 34 perches, being portion of Section
No. 2, commencing at a point on the north-eastern
boundary of Section No. 2 aforesaid 22 links from
its easternmost corner. Bounded by lines as follows:
North-westerly by the south-eastern boundary of
aforesaid road, 570 links; South-easterly by the
north-western boundary of the Hutt Road, 580
links; North-easterly to commencing point, 22 links.
All that piece or, parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 3 roods 34 perches, being portion of
Subdivisional Section No. 103 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-easternmost corner
of Section No. 3. Bounded by lines as follows:
South-westerly, 202 links; North-westerly, 632 links;
North-easterly, 258 links; South-easterly by the
Hutt Road to commencing point, 460 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 3 roods 6 perches, being portion of
Subdivisional Section No. 101 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the north-eastern boundary
of Section No. 2 253 links from its north-eastern-
most corner. Bounded by lines as follows: Westerly,
301 links; North-westerly, 256 links; South-westerly,
200 links; North-westerly, 123 links; North-easterly,
205 links; South-easterly, 632 links; South-westerly
by the south-western boundary of Section No. 3 to
commencing point, 51 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 37 perches, being portion of Sub-
divisional Section No. 100 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the north-western boundary
of said section 702 links from the south-westernmost
corner. Bounded by lines as follows: North-westerly,
136 links; North-easterly, 205 links; South-easterly,
123 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 199
links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 25 perches, being portion of Sub-
divisional Section No. 97 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary
of said section 457 links from the southernmost
corner. Bounded by lines as follows: South-easterly,
94 links; North-easterly, 166 links; North-westerly,
100 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 167
links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods 14 perches, being portion of
Subdivisional Section No. 97 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary-
line of said section 552 links from the southernmost
corner. Bounded by lines as follows: South-easterly,
386 links; Northerly, 178 links; North-westerly,
333 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 166
links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 27 perches, being portion of Sub-
divisional Section No. 96 of Section No. 3, com-
mencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary
of said section 428 links from its southernmost corner.
Bounded by lines as follows: South-easterly, 100
links; North-easterly, 164 links; North-westerly,
106 links; South-westerly to commencing point, 165
links.
