TAKARAROA.

All that block or parcel of land in the Poverty
Bay District, in the Provincial District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 2,707 acres, more or
less, known by the name of Takararoa. Bounded on
the North by the Paritu Block; thence on the East
by the sea-coast to Hamoringa; thence on the South
by a surveyed line to the Mangahouhouriki Creek;
thence on the West by the Waiau River to the
starting point: save and excepting 1,000 acres, more
or less, now held on freehold tenure by the Crown;
as shown by the plan of the block in the Survey
Office, Auckland.

ROTOKAKARANGU.

All that parcel of land in the Mohaka District,
part in the Provincial District of Auckland and part
in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, containing
by admeasurement 19,792 acres, more or less, known
by the name of Rotokakarangu. Bounded on the West
by Te Hoe Stream from its junction with the Mohaka
River to Whakamarino Stream; thence on the North-
west by Native land to Te Rata Trig. Station (No.
126), 46517 links; on the North and North-east by
Putere Block to Whareraurakau Block, 18417 links
and 30504 links respectively; on the East by Whare-
raurakau Block; and on the South by the Mohaka
River to the mouth of Te Hoe Stream: save and
excepting 16,684 acres, more or less, now held in free-
hold tenure by the Crown; as shown by the plan of
the block in the Survey Office, Auckland.

WHIROKINO.

All that block or parcel of land in the Manawatu
District, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
known by the name of Whirokino, containing by
estimation 5,410 acres, more or less. Bounded on
the North by land granted to Ihakara Tukumaru;
towards the East by the Manawatu River, Totara
Nos. 2 and 3, and Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 7D
Blocks; towards the South by the Manawatu-Ku-
kutauaki No. 7H Block; and towards the West by
the sea-coast.

TE NGAERE.

All that parcel of land in the District of Patea, in
the Provincial District of Taranaki, known by the
name of Te Ngaere, containing by admeasurement
7,500 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the
North-east by Te Rahui Block, 25952 links; towards
the East by lines, 26555 links; towards the South-
west by a line, 37265 links; and towards the North-
west by a line, 23322 links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Canterbury,
and Otago.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted

that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland,
Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Canterbury, and Otago,
described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the
purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 5 perches, more or less, situated
in the Provincial District of Auckland, and being
south-western portion of Lot No. 18 of Section No.
30 of the Town of Onehunga, Otahuhu Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded towards the North-west by north-
western portion of Lot No. 18 aforesaid, 154 links;
towards the North-east by north-eastern portion of
Lot No. 18 aforesaid, 18 links; towards the South-
east by old high-water mark; and towards the West
by a street in a curve, 20 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. For a public highway.

TARANAKI.

All that piece of land in the Town of Strat-
ford, Provincial District of Taranaki, containing
1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos.
204, 205, 206, 244, 245, and 246 in the said township.
Bounded on the North-west by Fenton Street; on
the North-east by Orlando Street; on the South-
east by Gloton Road; and on the South-west by Juliet
Street: as the same is delineated on the official maps
in the Survey Office, New Plymouth. As a site for
a school.

HAWKE'S BAY.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay, containing by admeasure-
ment 2 acres, more or less, being the School Reserve
marked on the plan of the Township of Tarawera,
Tarawera Survey District. Bounded towards the North
by Suburban Section No. 13, 229 links, and bearing
94° 31'; towards the South-east by Town Sections Nos.
15 and 16, 200 links, and bearing 17° 17'; towards
the North-east by Town Section No. 15, 250 links, and
bearing 107° 17'; again towards the South-east by a
public road, 370 links, and bearing 17° 17'; towards
the South by a public road, 350 links, and bearing 94°
31'; and towards the West by Suburban Section No.
6, 611 links, and bearing 4° 47': as the same is
delineated on the plan of the Township of Tarawera,
deposited in the Survey Office, Napier. As a site for
a school.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Akaroa Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, contain-
ing 10 acres, more or less. Bounded—Northward by
Reserve No. 1224 (in red), 1612 links; Eastward by
Reserve No. 885 (in red), 694 links; and Southward
and Westward by road-lines: and numbered 2493 (in
red) on the official map in the Survey Office, Christ-
church. For a cemetery.
