BUTTER OR CHEESE.
A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) will be
given for the first 25 tons of butter or the first 50
tons of cheese (produced in a factory worked on the
American principle, and to which factory any farmer,
subject to certain conditions, may send his milk),
which shall be exported from New Zealand, and sold
at such prices in a foreign market as shall show that
the articles are of fair quality.
MEAT.
A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) will be
given on the first 100 tons of fresh meat exported
from New Zealand in vessels fitted with refrigerating
machinery. Such meat must have been collected in
a refrigerating chamber in this colony, and must
have been landed in Europe in sound marketable
condition.
CONDITIONS.
NOTICE of intention to claim any of the above
bonuses must be given in writing to the Colonial
Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1881.
The claim must be made before the 30th June,
1882.
The other conditions as to quantity, quality, and
value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer
appointed for the purpose by the Government.

Alterations and Additions to the Rates for the Con-
veyance, Delivery, and Storage of Goods, Parcels,
&c., on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with the By-laws for the New Zea-
land Railways, fixed by Order in Council dated
the 6th January, 1881, the following alterations
and additions to the rates for the conveyance,
delivery, and storage of goods, parcels, &c., on all the
New Zealand Railways, are hereby declared to be
fixed and to come into force from the 23rd May,
1881:-
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
AMBERLEY-BLUFF SECTION.
Lyttelton Station.
Haulage: The second clause under this heading
is hereby cancelled, and the following substituted :-
On goods consigned to private sidings but not s. d.
placed there, being delivered instead to
vessels, a charge for haulage will be made
at the rate of, per ton

cutta, is published for general information.

COCANADA.
Red Buoy off Point Gordeware, Godavery.
THE Port Officer, Cocanada, has given notice that the
large red buoy, with pole and basket, has been re-
moved from its former position, viz., two miles eastward
of Gordeware Point, and is now placed in 6 fathoms,
low-water, to the northward of the Godavery Shoals;
the black buoy, formerly in that locality, being now
taken up.
The dry sandy point Gordeware will be marked by
a tripod beacon surmounted by a pole with a basket.
The bearing of Hope Island light from the red
buoy is S. by W. W.; the Vakalapudi light bears
from the buoy N.W. by W. (magnetic).
Approaching Cocanada from the southward by
night, a ship should not haul in for Vakalapudi light
till it bears W.N.W.; by day, she should pass fully
half a mile northward and eastward of the buoy.
