PORT NICHOLSON OR WELLINGTON HARBOUR.
Marine Department,
Wellington, 17th May, 1881.
THE Wellington Harbour Board reports that a
patch of rocks with only 15 feet on it at low-
water, and from 10 to 15 fathoms all round, has been
found about two cables' length from the south-west
point of Somes Island; the centre of the patch bears
from the lighthouse W. by S. S., and from the
northern detached rock above water off the north
end of the island S. by W. W. (magnetic).

Representatives, City of Nelson.
IN compliance with the provisions of the thirteenth
section of "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," I hereby notify that William Acton Blakeway
Adams, Esq., has resigned his seat in the House of
Representatives for the Electoral District of City
of Nelson, and that his letter of resignation was
received by me on the 16th day of May, 1881, and
that the said seat is vacant by reason of such
resignation.
