Auckland. Very fine and dry; high barometer; wind, moderate to fresh and variable, at close of month very light; warm
from 24th to 26th; little rain, the maximum on 17th, 30 in.
Wellington. Slight rain beginning of month, then fine, but rather oppressive until 13th, when 520 in. rain recorded, the
maximum for month; wind N.E.; remainder very fine, with only a few light showers; on 16th, 17th, and 18th strong N.W.
winds, otherwise moderate, and prevailed from that quarter.
Lincoln. Fine weather, at times very warm; winds variable, and occasionally strong; slight rainfall, the maximum
recorded on 7th, 396 in.; lightning on night of 15th.
Dunedin. Weather generally fine, with light rain, except during middle of month, when some heavy showers fell,
the maximum being 564 on 17th, and cold and windy on 21st and 22nd from S.W.; prevailing winds from S.W. and W.;
thunder on 27th.
Waitangi, Chatham Islands. Tolerably fine, with occasional showers of rain; the maximum on 20th, 38 in.; thunder on
19th, and hail on 20th; prevailing W. and N.W. winds; strong on 18th.
GENERAL REMARKS. Very warm and fine weather experienced; little rain, generally clear and bright, and moderate winds.
Meteor observed in North on 27th.

- NOTE. The observations taken at Lincoln are furnished by the Director of the School of Agriculture, Lincoln, having been
substituted for the former Meteorological Station in the Domain at Christchurch. The means for former years for that station
are inserted for comparison. The position of Lincoln is 10 miles S.W. from Christchurch, and 65 feet above sea-level.-J. H.

FORECLOSURE NOTICE.

OBERT MCLAREN, of Carterton, in the Pro-
vincial District of Wellington, Sheepfarmer, as
registered proprietor of Mortgage No. 469, of 640
acres of unsurveyed pastoral land, Tupurupuru
Block, Wairarapa, and 640 acres unsurveyed pastoral
land, Pahaua Block, East Coast District, having
applied for an order of foreclosure against the right
of redemption of the said land under section 126 of
"The Land Transfer Act, 1870," and having tendered
evidence of the matters required to be proved upon
such application, I hereby, in terms of the said Act,
offer the said land for sale, for the purpose of satis-
fying the amount of principal, interest, and costs due
on the said mortgage; and I give notice that an
order of foreclosure will be made unless the amount
due be satisfied on or before the 20th day of June,
1881.

register the Hokitika Gold-Mining Company
as a Limited Company under the provisions of "The
Mining Companies Act, 1872."
- The name of the Company is to be the Hokitika Gold-
Mining Company (Limited). - The place of operations is at the Tiki, Coromandel, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand. - The registered office of the Company will be situated at
the New Zealand Insurance Company's Buildings, Auckland, in
the Provincial District of Auckland and Colony of New Zealand. - The nominal capital of the Company is twelve thousand
