Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid ob-
jections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown on or
before the 7th day of June, 1881.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: M. J. Malaghan and others. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business:
"Mount Earnslaw Gold-Mining Company." 8 acres,
in the Wakatipu Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this sixth
day of May, one thousand eight hundred

Changing Purpose of Reserve No. 204, Kakaramea.

General Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 20th April, 1881.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor intends, under the provisions of
section 8 of "The Public Reserves Act, 1878," to
change the specific purpose of the land described in
the second column of the Schedule hereto for which
the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as
specified in the first column of the said Schedule, to
the specific purposes specified in the third column of
the said Schedule.

Sale of Crown Lands, Marlborough.

THE Land Board of the Marlborough Land Dis-
trict hereby notifies that the town and suburban
lands hereinafter mentioned will be offered for sale,
by public auction, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at
noon on Tuesday, the 31st May, 1881.

One-fourth of the purchase-money must be paid at
the auction, and the balance within one month, or the
amount of such payment will be forfeited. A deposit
for each section must be paid at the time of comple-
tion of the purchase, to cover the Crown-grant fee.

Immediately after the above sale a license, under
clause 149 of "The Land Act, 1877," to authorize
the occupation of Motuara Island, Queen Charlotte
Sound, estimated to contain 185 acres, will be put
up to auction at the upset annual rent of £3. The
first year's rent to be paid at auction, and subsequent
rent to be paid on every succeeding 1st July and 2nd
January during the continuance of the license. If
any portion of the rent shall remain unpaid for six
months after the same becomes due the license to be
ipso facto forfeited.
