Extending Time for Preparation of County Rolls,
County of Cook.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of May, 1881.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that cer-
tain things required to be done by "The
Counties Act, 1876," in connection with the making
and revision of the county roll of the County of
Cook cannot be done by or within the times required
by the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power
and authority vested in him by the two hundred and
eleventh section of the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the
doing of the said things in connection with the county
roll of the said County of Cook, and doth declare
that the time for the doing of such several things
shall be those which are specified in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

  1. Roll shall be open for inspection: From the
    25th April, 1881, until the 20th May, 1881.
  2. Objections to roll received: Until the 31st
    May, 1881.

Vesting Reserves in the Selwyn County Council.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of May, 1881.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved for the purpose specified
against each: And whereas, in the opinion of the
Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the
Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the County
of Selwyn:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the said Chairman,
Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of
Selwyn.

Marton Public Cemetery brought under "The
Cemeteries Management Act, 1877."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of May, 1881.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty-nine of "The Ceme-
teries Management Act, 1877," it is, amongst
other things, enacted that, where the Trustees of any
public cemetery, or the Trustees, Managers, or other
persons having the care and control of any other
cemetery, burial-ground, or place of burial heretofore
established, shall be desirous of adopting the provi-
sions of this Act, or any of them, in the place of any
Act or Ordinance, or any provisions of such Act or
Ordinance, heretofore regulating the management of
any such last-mentioned cemetery, burial-ground, or
place of burial, the said Trustees, Managers, or other
persons may apply to the Governor in Council in that
behalf, who may thereupon cause inquiry to be made
in such manner as he shall think fit as to the desira-
bility of granting such petition, and the Governor
may, by Order in Council, direct that the provisions
of this Act, or any of them, shall come into force in
