DISTRICT.

PUBLIC NOTICE BY THE PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named
Road Board, in accordance with "The Public
Works Act, 1876," propose to take the portion or
parcel of land herein set forth below for the purpose
of making a road to Block IV., Otago Peninsula
District.

Portobello Subdivision, Hooper's Inlet Ward.-
A road, 60 links wide, through Section 28, Block V.,
Portobello Bay District. Mrs. Rochefort, owner of
said Section 28.

Plan of above-described road to be seen at the
store of Mr. Latham, Portobello, for forty days from
this date.

All persons affected are requested to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objection to the taking of
such land, and to send such writing within forty days
from this date to the Portobello Road Board.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT ROAD-LINE
IN BLOCK IX., WAITOHU SURVEY DISTRICT,
ROAD DISTRICT OF OTAKI, COUNTY OF MANA-
WATU.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed by the
Otaki Highway Board, under the provisions
of "The Public Works Act, 1876," to execute a
certain public work, to wit, the construction of a
road-line in Block IX., Waitohu Survey District;
and for the purpose of such public work the lands
described in the Schedule hereto are required to be
taken: And notice is further given that a plan of the
said portion of road and of the lands so required to
be taken is deposited for inspection at the office of
the Otaki Highway Board, Otaki.

And notice is hereby given that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said lands are hereby called upon to
set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said work or the taking of the
-said lands, and to send such writing within forty

SCHEDULE.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION. - The road commences at a
point thirty-seven and five-tenths (37.5) links south-
east of north-east corner of Section 68, in the Town-
ship of Otaki, Block IX., Waitohu District; thence
extending about south-west nine (9) chains and six (6)
links, terminating at the Mill Road, in the Township
of Otaki. The second part of the road commences
at a point thirty-seven and five-tenths (37.5) links
south-east of north-east corner of Section 100, in the
Township of Otaki, Block IX., Waitohu District;
thence extending about south-west nine (9) chains
and five (5) links to the south-west boundary of the
Township of Otaki; thence extending generally
south-west fifty-nine (59) chains and forty-two (42)
links through Native land and Native claims, called
Waerenga and Harurunui: all in Block IX., Waitohu
District; terminating on the north bank of the Otaki
River.

WAIMATE BUSH BRANCH RAILWAY COMPANY
(LIMITED).

AN Extraordinary General Meeting held at the
Company's offices, Queen Street, Waimate, on
Friday, the 26th day of November, 1880, it was
resolved unanimously that the Company be volun-
tarily wound up, and that FRANK SLEE of Waimate,
Land Broker, be Liquidator; and that, at an Extra-
ordinary General Meeting, held at the offices of the
Company, Queen Street, Waimate, it was resolved
unanimously that the above resolution be confirmed.

IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF WESTLAND, HOLDEN
AT WESTPORT.

In "The Mining Companies Act, 1872," and in the
matter of the Halcyon Quartz-Mining Company
(Limited), in liquidation.

NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with
clause 109 of the above-recited Act, that the
Schedules of the Plan of Distribution are now lying
in my office, Wakefield Street, Westport, for inspec-
tion by the contributors to, and creditors of, the
above-named Company; and that the claims men-
tioned in the said schedules will, after the lapse of
twenty-one days from the date of the publication of
this notice, be paid at the said office.

NOTICE is hereby given that Mr. ANDREW MONT-
GOMERY has ceased to have any connection
with the business of the Ale and Porter Stores,
Colombo Street, Christchurch, carried on under the
name of "Stewart and Co.;" and that he will not be
responsible for any debts that may be incurred in
connection therewith from this date.
