THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

It is intended that the Bill, when made law, shall
come into force in the Diocese of Dunedin on the
day of the passing thereof, and in any other diocese,
by the proclamation of the Governor, upon a petition
from the Synod of the diocese, wishing to bring the
Act into force within such diocese.
Copies of the Bill can be seen at the offices of

Solicitor, New Plymouth; Wilson and Cotterill,
Solicitors, Napier; Izard and Bell, Solicitors, Wel-
lington; A. Rogers, Solicitor, Blenheim; Adams and
Kingdon, Solicitors, Nelson; Harper and Co., Solici-
tors, Christchurch; and Kenyon and Hosking,
Solicitors, Dunedin.

TRAMWAY NOTICE.
THE CANTERBURY TRAMWAY COMPANY (LIMITED).
Incorporated under "The Joint-Stock Companies
Act, 1860."
I HEREBY give notice, in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Tramways Act, 1872," that the
above Company intends to apply to the Government
for an order-
-
For power to extend existing lines, and to con-
struct others within the City of Christchurch and its
vicinity. -
The proposed works will embrace-
(1.) An extension of the Sydenham line from
the Agricultural Show-Grounds by way of
Colombo Road, a distance of 29 chains south;
(2.) A line from the junction of Colombo and
Tuam Streets, along Tuam Street and the
Lincoln Road, to the Addington Railway
Station;
(3.) A line from a point in High Street, on the
corner of Manchester Street, in the city afore-
said, to form a junction with the line as at
present constructed in High Street to the
East Town Belt, and from the East Town Belt
to the Ferry Bridge, by way of the Ferry
Road. With power to make loop lines and
sidings in places convenient for the traffic of
the Company. -
The names of the cities, towns, and districts in
which the proposed works are-
(1.) The City of Christchurch;
(2.) The Borough of Sydenham;
(3.) The Heathcote Road Board;
(4.) The Riccarton Road Board. -
The deposits required in accordance with sub-
section 2, section 7, and Part II., Schedule No. 3,
of "The Tramways Act, 1872," were made on the
20th September, 1880, except the Tuam Street route
to the Lincoln Road, plans for which will be deposited
for public inspection at the following places on or
before Monday, the 25th April:-
(1.) The office of the Registrar of the Supreme
Court, Christchurch;
(2.) The City Council Office, Christchurch;
(3.) The Borough Council Office, Sydenham;
(4.) The Heathcote Road Board Office;
(5.) The Riccarton Road Board;
(6.) The Public Works Office, Wellington;
(7.) The office of the Company, in Cathedral
Square, Christchurch.
- The office of the Canterbury Tramway Company
(Limited), situated in Cathedral Square, in the City
of Christchurch, is the place at which printed copies
of the draft order when deposited, and of the order
when made, will be obtainable.
