the Wellington Provincial District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by an Act of
the General Assembly intituled "The Crown Grants
Act, 1866," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Gover-
nor of the Colony of New Zealand, do authorize

NATHANIEL JOHN TONE,
Assistant Surveyor, of Wellington, to take and lay
down roads over the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto, and for that purpose to exercise all such
powers as by the said Act may be exercised by a
person legally authorized in that behalf under the
said Act.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Auckland, Canterbury, and Westland.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of " The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of
Auckland, Canterbury, and Westland described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the
said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 18 acres 2 roods 2 perches, more or
less, being Allotment No. 76 of the Suburbs of
Patutahi, Turanganui Survey District, Provincial
District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North
by a road, 2663 links; towards the East by a road,
1403 links; towards the South by Allotments Nos.
125 to 128, the termination of a road, and again by
Lots Nos. 130 to 134, 1925 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. As a site for a school
for secondary education.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Westerfield Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, contain-
ing 38 acres, more or less. Bounded-North-east-
ward by the north branch of the River Ashburton;
South-eastward by Section No. 6503; North-westward
by Section 6504; and South-westward by the road
running through the last-mentioned section: and
numbered 2490 (in red) on the official map in the
Survey Office, Christchurch. For a rifle-range.

WESTLAND.

All that parcel of land containing 96 acres 1 rood
19 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 225
(in red), Block I, on the map of the Totara Survey
District. Bounded towards the South by the Ross
and Okarito Road, 228 links and 59 links, and by
Section No. 1985, 3782 links; towards the West by
Crown lands, 2800 links; towards the North by
Section No. 195, 2921 links; and towards the East
by Section No. 5, 2906 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages a little more or less. For a reserve for
ferry purposes.

All that parcel of land containing 3 acres 2 roods
21 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 238
(in red), Block I., on the map of the Totara Survey
District. Bounded towards the South by the Ross
and Okarito Road, 535 links; towards the West by
Section No. 5, 940 links; and towards the North and
East by road along the Mikonui River, 1300 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.
For a reserve for ferry purposes.

All that parcel of land containing 100 acres, more
or less, being Reserve No. 226 (in red), Block XII.,
on the map of the Waitaha Survey District. Bounded
towards the South-east by the Ross and Okarito Road,
1400 links; towards the East by the road along the
Waitaha River, 4610 links; towards the North-west
by Crown lands, 2924 links; and towards the South-
west by a line at right angles with Ross and Okarito
Road, 4000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little
more or less. For a reserve for ferry purposes.

All that parcel of land containing 100 acres, more
or less, being Reserve No. 237 (in red), Block VIII.,
on the map of the Abbey Rocks Survey District.
Bounded towards the North by Sections Nos. 2009
and 2101; towards the West by Section No. 1733;
towards the South by a straight line parallel with
south boundary of Section No. 2009; and towards
the East by the road reserve along the Paringa River.
For a reserve for ferry purposes.

All that parcel of land containing 18 acres and
8 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 214 (in
red), Block VII., on the map of the Turiwhati Survey
District. Bounded towards the North by Christ-
church Road, and by Section No. 1591, 950 links;
