NOTICE is hereby given that a statutory declara-
tion of the loss of Crown grant in favour of
PHILIP KENDALL, for Section 2, Block V., Village
of Waiomio, the whole of the land included in Vol.
xviii., folio 94, of the Register-book, having been filed
in this office, and application having been made for
the issue of a provisional certificate for the same,
it is my intention to issue such certificate, unless
caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the
25th day of January next.
Dated at the Land Transfer Office, Auckland, this
12th day of December, 1881.

Mining Notices.
MINING LEASE APPLICATION WITHDRAWN.
NOTICE is hereby given that the application of
PETER ALLEN and others for a gold-mining
lease of 16 acres of land at Scandinavian Gully
West, adjoining Mitchison's prospecting claim, Ser-
pentine, lodged at the Warden's Office, Naseby, on
22nd January, 1879, has been withdrawn, and that
the land referred to in such application is open to
persons holding miners' rights or business licenses,
or to applicants for a lease, as if no lease of the said
land had ever been applied for.

MINING LEASE FORFEITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that the application of
JOHN COGAN and others for a gold-mining
lease of 16 acres of land, situate at the east end of
Mitchison's prospecting claim in Scandinavian Gully,
Serpentine, was, on the 25th February, 1881, granted
by the Warden of the Mount Ida District on con-
dition that certificate would issue on payment of
rent: And whereas the said John Cogan and others
have neglected to pay such rent: Be it known that,
under section 19 of Part IV., Appendix A, of "The
Mines Act, 1877," relating to gold-mining leases,
the interest of the said John Cogan and others in
the said lease has ceased and determined, and that
the land referred to in such gold-mining lease is open
to persons holding miners' rights or business licenses,
or to applicants for a lease, as if no lease of the said
ground had ever been applied for.

THE GREYMOUTH-WALLSEND COLLIERY
COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that an Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Greymouth-Wallsend
Colliery Company (Limited) will be held at Wat-
son's Empire Hotel, on Saturday, the 31st da of
December, at 12 o'clock in the noon, for the pur-
pose of considering and, if thought fit, passing the
subjoined resolutions:—
- That the agreement entered into on behalf of
this Company with the Westport Coal Company
(Limited), for the sale of leasehold property, ma-
chinery, and plant of this Company to the said
Westport Coal Company (Limited), be confirmed,
and that the Directors be empowered to carry the
same into effect. - That the Company be wound up voluntarily
under the provisions of "The Joint-Stock Companies
Act, 1860;" and that JOHN I. CARTER be and is
hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such
winding up.
