Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Hawke's Bay and Otago.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Hawke's
Bay and Otago, described in the Schedule here-
under written, for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE'S BAY.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay, containing by admeasure-
ment 6 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 1, Block V., Clyde District. Bounded
towards the North by a public road, 170 links, 206
links, and 35 links; towards the East by the Tawhara
Stream; towards the South-east by the Wairoa
River; towards the South by a line, 326 links;
towards the West by a public road, 580 links and
489 links; again towards the North and West by
Section No. 2, 367 links and 534 links respectively.
For a pilot station.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres,
more or less, situate in the Chatton District, and
being Section No. 23, Block XIV., of said district.
Bounded towards the North-west by a road-line,
1500 links; towards the North-east by Section No. 9
of same block, 850 links; towards the South-east by
said Section No. 9, 1250 links; and towards the
South-west by a road-line, 1000 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a
school.
All those parcels of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 7 acres
2 roods 27 perches, more or less, situate in the
Lower Hawea District, and being Sections numbered
respectively 1, Block III., and 1, Block IV., of said
district. Bounded towards the North-west by Crown
lands 600 links, also by the Hawea River 670 links;
towards the North-east by Crown lands, 612.2 links
and 515 links; towards the South-east by the Hawea
River 640 links, and by Crown lands 600 links;
towards the South-west by Crown lands, 628 links
and 723 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less. For a bridge reserve.
All that area situated in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 903 acres
2 roods 26 perches, more or less, being Section No.
32, Block III., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey
District. Bounded towards the North by Sections
Nos. 10, 5, 7, and 6, Block XI., Waikouaiti Survey
District; towards the South-east by a road-line and
Sections Nos. 30 and 33, Block III., North Harbour
and Blueskin Survey District; and towards the South
and West by the Dunedin Waterworks Reserve. For
the growth and preservation of timber, and for water
supply.
All that area situated in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 699 acres
1 rood 17 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1
of Block X., Waikouaiti Survey District. Bounded
towards the North by Section No. 1 of Block VII.;
towards the East by Section No. 6, Block IX., Wai-
kouaiti Survey District; towards the South by a road-
line; and towards the West by Section No. 1, Block
V., and Section No. 1, Block VII., Silver Peak Survey
District. For the growth and preservation of tim-
ber, and for water supply.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this nineteenth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.

Fixing Sittings of the District Courts of Nelson and
Westland.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority in this behalf enabling me, I, Arthur
Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings
of the District Courts of Nelson and Westland, for
civil and criminal business, shall be held as follows,
in lieu of those previously fixed and appointed :-
Nelson District.
For criminal business, in the Provincial Hall, Nel-
son, on the 9th January, 6th March, 8th May, 10th
July, 4th September, 6th November.
For civil business, in the Resident Magistrate's
Court, Nelson, on the 12th January, 6th and 20th
February, 2nd and 13th March, 13th and 27th April,
4th May, 5th and 19th June, 3rd July, 3rd and 21st
August, 7th September, 9th and 23rd October, 13th
November, 4th and 18th December.
For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse,
Blenheim, on the first Wednesday in January, April,
July, and October.
Westland District.
For criminal and civil business, in the Courthouse,
Westport, on the 16th January, 20th March, 15th
May, 17th July, 18th September, 20th November.
For criminal and civil business, in the Courthouse,
Reefton, on the 19th January, 23rd March, 18th
May, 20th July, 21st September, 23rd November.
For criminal and civil business, in the Courthouse,
Greymouth, on the 23rd January, 27th March, 22nd
May, 24th July, 25th September, 27th November.
For criminal and civil business, in the Supreme
Courthouse, Hokitika, on the 25th January, 30th
March, 25th May, 27th July, 28th September, 30th
November.
Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court
appointed for that day shall be holden on the first
day thereafter not being a holiday.

Governor, this nineteenth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.
