N conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
I "The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall he valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Westport on 01:
before the 29th day of December, 1881.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Westport.

under which it is intended to conduct the business :
"Reefton Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2
roods, south side of Westport Colliery Railway,
going up Corns Creek, Waimangaroa, in the Nelson
South-Vest Nining District.
Given under my band, at Nelson, this ninth
