And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said land in the Corporation of
the Borough of Ashburton:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserves shall become vested in the Mayor, Coun-
cillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Ashburton,
in trust for municipal purposes.

SCHEDULE.

All the under-mentioned sections situate in the
Town of Ashburton, containing 1 rood each, viz.,
843, 844, 853, 854, 863, 874, 893, 894, 903, 904, 950,
964, 991, 1000, 1005, 1015, 1040, 1048, 1053, 1063,
1076, 1077, 1078, 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1084,
1085, 1066, 1067, 1068, 1069, 1070, 1071, 1072, 1073,

Extending Time for holding Elections in certain
Counties.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of November, 1881.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made under
the two hundred and eleventh section of "The
Counties Act, 1876," and dated the twenty-first day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one, the time appointed for holding the elections of
Councillors for certain counties was extended from
the second Wednesday of the present month of
November to the third Wednesday of the said month:

And whereas it is expedient to further extend the
time for holding such elections for the ridings of the
counties mentioned in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby further extend the time ap-
pointed for holding the elections for the ensuing three
years of the members of the County Councils for the
ridings mentioned in the Schedule hereto from the
third Wednesday in November instant to the date
named opposite to each such riding respectively.

Kaitangata Recreation-grounds brought under "The
Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of November, 1881.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the twenty-fourth section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1881," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the
reserves made for public recreation in the Provincial
District of Otago, and known as the Kaitangata
Recreation-grounds, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be and the same are hereby brought under
the operation of and declared to be subject to the
provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and
such domain shall hereafter be managed, adminis-
tered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said
Acts.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement (exclusive of
area of proposed channel) 64 acres 2 roods 35
perches, more or less, situate in the Township
of Kaitangata, and now numbered Section 5, Block
XLVI., of said township. Bounded towards the
North by a street-line, 1395 links; towards the
North-east by Section No. 4 of same block, 399-6
links; towards the South-east by Davidson Street
3022 links and 5369 links, also by Sections Nos. 1,
2, 3, 4, and Bembridge Street, 500 links; towards
the South-west by Bembridge Street, 275-2 links;
towards the South-west, West, and North-west by
the Kaitangata Creek and the Kaitangata Lake,
6000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less; as the same is delineated on the plan in the
Survey Office, Dunedin; excluding therefrom all
public streets or roads.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3
roods 3 perches, more or less, situate in the Township
of Kaitangata, and being Sections Nos. 1 to 15 of
Block XXVI. of said township. Bounded towards
the North-east by Branksea Street, 755-4 links;
towards the South-east by Eddystone Street, 500
links; towards the South-west by St. Albans Street,
846 links; and towards the North-west by Water
Street, 542 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted
that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from
time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the
said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to
any person or persons for any period, and subject to
such stipulations as may be specified in such order,
