NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR
ROADS.
In the matter of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and the amending Acts thereof, and in the matter
of the taking by the Palmerston Road Board of
parts of Section twenty-seven (27), Block one (I.),
Hawksbury District, in the Provincial District of
Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, and part of
Section one of fifty-one (1 of 51), Block three
(III.), Moeraki Survey District, in the Provincial
District of Otago aforesaid, for the use of roads.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of
the Palmerston Road Board to take certain
lands, hereinafter more particularly described, for
the purpose of constructing roads; and all persons
affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections to the taking
of such lands, and to send such writing within forty
days from the publication hereof to the said Pal-
merston Road Board. And notice is hereby further
given that the plans of the said lands are open for
inspection at the office of the said Palmerston Road
Board; and the following is the description of the
said lands respectively :-

All that parcel of land situate in the Hawks-
bury District, containing by admeasurement one (1)
rood and thirty-three (33) perches, and being part of
Section twenty-seven (27), Block one (I.), on the
record map of the said district, and comprised
within the following boundary-lines: Commencing
at the north-eastern corner or angle of the said
Section numbered twenty-seven (27), and running
thence along the north-north-eastern boundary-line
of the said Section numbered twenty-seven (27) in
a west-north-westerly direction, a distance of three
hundred and ten links and five-tenths of a link
(310.5); thence in a line bearing one hundred and
fifty-eight degrees and fifty-one minutes (158° 51′), a
distance of two hundred and seventy-five links and
five-tenths of a link (275.5); thence in a line bearing
two hundred and ninety-three degrees and thirty-two
minutes (293° 32'), a distance of one hundred and
twenty-six links and one-tenth of a link (126.1), to a
point intersecting the east-south-eastern boundary-
line of the said Section numbered twenty-seven (27);
thence along the said east-south-eastern boundary-
line in a north-north-easterly direction, a distance of
two hundred and ten links and seven-tenths of a
link (210.7), back to the point of commencement.
Bounded on the North-north-east by part of Section
two of thirteen (2 of 13), Block one (I.), Hawksbury
District aforesaid; on the East-south-east by part of
Section twenty-six (26) of the same block; and on
all other sides by other parts of the said Section
numbered twenty-seven (27). -
All that parcel of land situate in the Hawks-
bury District, containing by admeasurement one (1)
rood and three perches and seven-tenths of a perch
(3.7), and being part of Section numbered twenty-
seven (27), Block one (I.), on the record map of the
said district, and comprised within the following
boundary-lines: Commencing at a point on the
north-north-eastern boundary-line of the said
Section numbered twenty-seven (27), distant three
hundred and ten links and five-tenths of a link
(310.5) from the north-eastern corner or angle of
the said Section numbered twenty-seven (27), and
running along the said north-north-eastern boundary-
line in a west-north-westerly direction, a distance of
eighty links and seven-tenths of a link (80.7);
thence in a line bearing one hundred and fifty-eight
degrees and fifty-one minutes (158° 51′), a distance
of three hundred and fifty-four links and five-tenths
of a link (354.5); thence in a line bearing two
hundred and ninety-three degrees and thirty-two
minutes (293° 32′), a distance of one hundred and
fifty-three links and nine-tenths of a link (153.9), to
a point intersecting the east-south-eastern boundary-
line of the said Section numbered twenty-seven (27);
thence along the said east-south-eastern boundary-
line in a north-north-easterly direction, a distance of
sixty (60) links, to a point distant two hundred and
ten links and seven-tenths of a link (210.7) from the
north-eastern corner or angle of the said Section
numbered twenty-seven (27); thence in a line bear-
ing two hundred and ninety-three degrees and thirty-
two minutes (293° 32′), a distance of one hundred
and twenty-six links and one-tenth of a link (126.1);
thence in a line bearing one hundred and fifty-eight
degrees and fifty-one minutes (158° 51′), a distance
of two hundred and seventy-five links and five-tenths
of a link (275.5), back to the point of commence-
ment. Bounded on the North-north-east by a road-
line; towards the East-south-east by part of Section
numbered twenty-six (26), Block one (I.), Hawks-
bury District aforesaid; and on all other sides by
other parts of said Section numbered twenty-seven
(27). -
All that parcel of land situate in the Moeraki
Survey District, containing by admeasurement two
(2) roods and four-tenths of a perch (4), and being
part of Section numbered one of fifty-one (1 of 51),
Block three (III.), on the record map of the said
district, and comprised within the following boundary-
lines: Commencing at a point on Stony Creek, the
southern boundary of said Section numbered one of
fifty-one (1 of 51), and distant two hundred and
thirty (230) links from the north-eastern corner or
angle of Section numbered eleven (11), Block one
(I.), Hawksbury District, and running from the
said point in a line bearing two hundred and eighty-
two degrees and seven minutes (282° 7′), a distance
of four hundred and nine links and seven-tenths of a
link (409.7); thence in a line bearing one hundred
and fifty-six degrees and twenty-five minutes (156°
25′), a distance of four hundred and twenty-four
links and six-tenths of a link (424.6); thence in a
line bearing two hundred and thirty-seven degrees
and forty-four minutes (237° 44′), a distance of sixty
links and seven-tenths of a link (60.7); thence in a
line bearing one hundred and fifty-six degrees and
twenty-five minutes (156° 25′), and running in a
south-south-easterly direction, a distance of four
hundred and forty-six links and five-tenths of a link
(446.5); thence in a line bearing two hundred and
eighty-two degrees and seven minutes (282° 7′), a
distance of three hundred and ninety-five (395)
links, to a point intersecting the said Stony Creek;
thence along the said creek, a distance of seventy-five
(75) links, back to the point of commencement.
Bounded on the North-north-west by a road-line;
on the West-south-west, South-north-east, and
North-north-east by other parts of said Section
numbered one of fifty-one (1 of 51); and on the
South-east by the said Stony Creek, forming the
southern boundary-line of the said Section num-
bered one of fifty-one (1 of 51).
Dated at Palmerston, this twenty-fourth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty.
