authorities enabling me in that behalf, do hereby pro-
claim and declare that, from and after the date of
this Proclamation, the said Town of West Hawksbury
shall be a borough constituted under the said "Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," and shall be called the
Borough of Hawksbury; and that the boundaries of
such borough shall be those specified in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land comprised within the Town of
West Hawksbury, as defined by a Proclamation of
the Superintendent of Otago, dated the twenty-third
April, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six,
and published in the Otago Provincial Government
Gazette of the twenty-fifth April, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-six.

Given under the hand of His Excellency James
Prendergast, Esquire, Chief Justice, the
Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-eighth day of September, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The
XVII., No. 3," "The (Canterbury) Dog Nuisance
Amendment Ordinance, 1862," and "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," I, James Prendergast, the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint the persons whose
names appear in the first column of the Schedule
hereto to be the persons to register dogs for the
place set opposite their names in the second column
of the said Schedule: And I do further appoint
the places mentioned in the third column of the said
Schedule to be the offices at which persons shall
register their dogs.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of September, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the fourth section of "The
Lunatics Act, 1868" (hereinafter called "the
said Act"), it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council from time to time to order
or direct that all or any of the powers, functions,
duties, and authorities vested in or required to be
performed by the Governor, or the Governor in
Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by the said Act,
within any province or other district of the colony,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superinten-
dent of any such province, or by any other person
the Governor may think fit, subject, however, to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit; and
thereupon such functions, powers, duties, and au-
thorities may, by such Superintendent or other per-
son, be exercised or performed within the province or
other district of the colony specified in such order;
and in like manner to alter or revoke any such order:

And whereas by an Order in Council bearing date
the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty, the powers granted to the Colonial
Secretary under the seventy-fourth and seventy-fifth
sections of the said Act were delegated to Edward
Shaw, to be exercised by him within the Wellington
District:

And whereas it is expedient to revoke the delega-
tions of the powers granted to the said Edward Shaw
under the said sections, and to delegate the said
powers in manner hereafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth, by this present
order, revoke the aforesaid delegation to the said
Edward Shaw, and doth hereby delegate to

the powers granted to the Colonial Secretary under
the seventy-fourth and seventy-fifth sections of the
said Act, and doth hereby order that the said powers
shall be exercised by the said Thomas Anstey Mans-
ford within the said Wellington District.
