- The name of the Company is to be the Great Extended
Quartz Mining-Mining Company (Limited). - The place of operations is at Longwood, in the County
of Wallace, in the Colony of New Zealand. - The registered office of the Company will be situated at
Riverton. - The nominal capital of the Company is forty thousand
pounds, in forty thousand shares of one pound each. - The number of shares subscribed for is forty thousand,
being the entire number of shares in the Company. - The number of paid-up shares is nil.
- The amount already paid up is two shillings and sixpence

PATENT for an Invention for Utilizing Tallow or
other Materials for making Candles.
CHARLES FFRENCH PEMBERTON, of Sefton, Ashley,
Civil Engineer, has deposited at this office a specifi-
cation of the said invention; and I have appointed
Friday, the 28th day of January next, at 10 o'clock
in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said appli-
cation and all objections thereto; and I require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 24th
day of January next, at this office, particulars in
writing of their objections to the said application,
otherwise they will be precluded from urging the
same.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.
I HEREBY give notice that, in pursuance of the
powers granted by "The Public Works Act,
1876," the Southland County Council did, on the
13th August, 1880, declare the road commencing at
the Bay Road, and running in a south-westerly
direction through Section 14, Block XV., Inver-
cargill Hundred, thence continuing through Section
21 of said block, and along south-east boundary of
Sections 15 and 17 also of said block, and termina-
ting at the Otatara Bush Reserve, to be a County
Road within the meaning of the said Act. Short
description, "Otatara Bush Road.
