Declaring Land open for Sale within the Mining
District of Westland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-fourth
section of " The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time
to time declare any Crown lands within any mining
district, not held under license or lease at the date of
such Proclamation, or over which the license or lease
has been cancelled, to be open for sale or selection,
in sections of such size and form, and on such date,
as he may determine; and any lands so proclaimed
may hereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to
the like terms and conditions, or as near thereto as
may be, as Crown lands of the same class not within
a mining district: And the Governor may from time
to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclama-
tion:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, do hereby declare that the land specified in the
Schedule hereto shall be open for sale, and that the
twenty-third day of October next ensuing shall
be the day on which the said land shall be open for
sale.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land, being 200 acres, more or less,
situated in the Provincial District of Westland, being
Block II., Poerua, and Block XIV., Wanganui, Sur-
vey Districts. Bounded towards the East by the
road along the south side of the Wanganui River;
towards the South by a straight line, 40 chains;
towards the West by a straight line distant 40 chains
from, and generally parallel with, road before men-
tioned; and towards the North by a straight line,
40 chains, parallel with south boundary; said last-
mentioned boundary to commence 20 chains north
from Ferguson Brothers' Stockyard: subject to
necessary reserves, and exclusive of rights under
"The Mines Act, 1877."

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the third
day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the ninth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine, a portion of certain
liabilities, amounting to the sum of one thousand five
hundred and fifty pounds, incurred by the Invercar-
gill Road District, were allocated to the said district

All that piece of land in the Provincial District of
Westland, containing 75 acres, more or less, on the
map of the Mahinapua Survey District, Block VII.
Bounded towards the West by the road reserve
along the sea-coast; towards the South by Section
No. 1888; towards the East by Reserve No. 9 (in
red), railway reserve; and towards the North by a
line to include the quantity: subject to necessary
reserves, and exclusive of all rights under "The
Mines Act, 1877."

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of August, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.
