Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
first day of September 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto was reserved for a
gravel-pit:
And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to "The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to change
the purpose of a portion of such reserve to another
of the purposes named in the said Part I., as herein-
after mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of the portion of
the said reserve mentioned in the first column of the
said Schedule hereto shall be changed from that of a
reserve for a gravel-pit, and doth hereby declare and
define the purpose of the said reserve to be that
specified in the second column of the said Schedule,
the same being one of the purposes named in Part I.
of the Schedule to the said Act.

Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial Districts
of Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
reserve from sale the lands in the Pro-
vincial Districts of Auckland, Canterbury, Otago,
and Westland, described in the Schedule hereto, for
the purpose in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being
Lot 148, Village of Te Awamutu, Parish of Puniu,
Puniu Survey District, Provincial District of Auck-
land. Bounded towards the North-east by Brady
Street, 100 links; towards the South-east by Allot-
ment No. 147, 338 links; towards the South-west by
Allotment No. 140, 200 links; towards the North-
west by Roache Street, 400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. As a site for a public pound.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Opuha Survey Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing
5 acres, more or less. Bounded-North-westward by
Tripp's Pass Road; South-westward by Section
31990, 970 links; North-eastward by a line parallel
to and 5 chains distant from the last-mentioned
boundary; and South-eastward by a line at right
angies thereto: and numbered 2476 (in red) on the
official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch. For
a gravel-pit.
OTAGO.
All that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less,
situate in the Glenkenich District, being Section
No. 43, Block X., on the map of the said district.
Bounded towards the North-east by a road-line,
1532.5 links; towards the South-east by Section 22,
634 links; towards the South-west by Section 22,
1623.6 links; and towards the North-west by a road-
line, 640.5 links: as the same is more particularly
delineated on the maps in the Survey Office, Dunedin.
As a site for a school.
WESTLAND.
All that area in the Provincial District of West-
land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or
less, being Reserve No. 224 (in red) on the map of
the Waimea Survey District. Bounded towards the
West and North by the Paroa to Greymouth Road;
towards the East by a line 100 links distant from
and parallel with road and Railway Reserve No. 7
(in red); and towards the South by a line at right
angies with the last-mentioned boundary, to include
the quantity. As a site for a school.
All that area in the Provincial District of West-
land, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods,
more or less, being Reserve No. 223 (in red) on the
map of the Kanieri Survey District. Bounded
towards the North by the Kokatahi Road; towards
the East by Section 2008, 600 links; towards the
South by a line at right angles with the last-men-
tioned boundary; and towards the West by a line
parallel with eastern boundary. As a site for a
school.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this third day of Septem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty.
