Vesting a Reserve.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
first day of September, 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved in connection with the
overflow of the River Eyre: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the
said land in the Road Board of the Eyreton District,
as constituted under section ten of "The Canterbury
Roads Ordinance, 1872:"
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, and
in exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in him by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves
Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the
said reserve shall become vested in the said Road
Board of the Eyreton District, in trust for the im-
provement and protection of the banks of the River
Eyre, and for other purposes in connection with the
overflow of the said river.
SCHEDULE.
RESERVE 1547 (in red). All that parcel of land in
the Christchurch Survey District, Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing 631 acres 2 roods, more
or less. Bounded-Northward by Sections 8923
and 10173, and by Reserve 1330 (in red); Eastward
by road-lines, 4648 links and 1006 links respectively,
and by Section 4766; Southward by the River
Waimakariri; and Westward by Waimakariri No. 10
Road: and numbered 1547 (in red) on the official map
in the Survey Office, Christchurch.
Reserve 1548 (in red). All that parcel of land in
the Christchurch Survey District, Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing 100 acres, more or less.
Bounded-Northward by the Eyre Road South, and
Reserve 1026 (in red); Eastward by the said reserve,
1000 links, and by Waimakariri No. 10 Road, 1100
links; and Southward and Westward by Section
33406: and numbered 1548 (in red) on the official
map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said lands in the Corporation
of the Borough of Ashburton:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the Mayor, Council-
lors, and Burgesses of the said borough, in trust for
municipal purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL the several parcels of land within the Town of
Ashburton, in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
as the same are respectively delineated on the official
plan in the Survey Office, Christchurch, being num-
bered and bounded as follows:-
Reserve No. 762, being Sections Nos. 1210, 1211,
1212, and containing by admeasurement 3 roods
33 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the
North-east by Havelock Street, towards the South-
east by Walker Street, and towards the South-west
by the Ashburton Terrace.
Reserve No. 764, being Section No. 657, and con-
taining by admeasurement 24 perches, more or less.
Bounded towards the North-east by Havelock Street,
towards the South-west by Wakanui Road West, and
towards the North-west by Winter Street.
Reserve No. 765, being Section No. 630, and con-
taining by admeasurement 24 perches, more or less.
Bounded towards the North-east by Short Street,
towards the South-west by Tancred Street, and
towards the North-west by Winter Street.
Reserve No. 766, being Sections Nos. 212, 213, 224,
and 225, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre,
more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by
Cameron Street, towards the South-east by Baring
Square, towards the South-west by Havelock Street,
and towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 214
and 223.
Reserve No. 767, being Sections Nos. 210 and 211,
and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or
less. Bounded towards the North-east by Baring
Square, towards the South-east by West Street,
towards the South-west by Section No. 193, and
towards the North-west by Section No. 209.
Reserve No. 771, being Sections Nos. 38, 39, 53,
and 54, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre,
more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by
Kermode Street, towards the South-east by West
Street, towards the South-west by Dobson Street,
and towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 40
and 52.
Reserve No. 772, being Sections Nos. 45, 46, and
47, and containing by admeasurement 3 roods 12
perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-
east by Kermode Street, towards the South-east by
Sections Nos. 48 and 44, towards the South-west by
Dobson Street, and towards the West by the Ash-
burton Terrace.
Reserve No. 773, being Sections Nos. 73 and 74,
and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or
less. Bounded towards the North-east by Moore
Street, towards the South-east by West Street,
towards the South-west by Section No. 56, and
towards the North-west by Section No. 72.
Reserve No. 775, and containing by admeasure-
ment 29 perches, more or less. Bounded towards
the North-east by Wakanui Road West, towards the
South-east by Section No. 1228, towards the South-
west by Burnett Street, and towards the North-west
by Grigg Street.
Reserve No. 776, and containing by admeasurement
29 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the
North-east by Burnett Street, towards the South-
east by Section No. 1239, towards the South-west by
Short Street, and towards the North-west by Grigg
Street.
