deposited in the Warden's Court of the district in
which such land is; and such map shall be referred
to in and shall form part of any such Proclamation:
And whereas, for the purpose of supplying with
water the Nelson Creek Gold Field, being a portion
of the proclaimed gold field known as the Nelson
South-West Gold Field, there has been constructed
partly within and partly without such proclaimed
gold field a water-race, called the Nelson Creek
Water-race, and a map thereof has been deposited as
aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authori-
ties vested in me by the hereinbefore recited Acts, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described
in the First Schedule hereto shall be and the same
are hereby declared to be a water-race for the pur-
poses of the said Acts, and shall be called the Nelson
Creek Water-race; and I declare that the several
streams specified in the Second Schedule hereto are
taken for the purpose of supplying such water-race,
and that the lands over which the said water-race,
known as the Nelson Creek Water-race, is constructed,
are accurately specified in the First Schedule hereto,
and in the map marked P.W.D. 6235, deposited as
aforesaid.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the Nelson Creek Water-
race, marked by a peg driven in the ground, and
figured 0 miles 10 chains, and thence follows along
the hills forming the watershed of Lake Hochstetter
entirely around the said lake to the starting-point on
a race-line marked O miles 10 chains. All that piece
or parcel of land commencing at peg figured 0 miles
10 chains on the existing Nelson Creck Water-race,
and ending at peg figured 5 miles 30 chains on same,
having a width of 400 links throughout; bounded to
the North by a line 200 links distant from the centre
of the said water-race as constructed and generally
parallel to same; and bounded to the South by a line
400 links distant from the said northern boundary
and generally parallel to same; as indicated on map
by dotted green lines and green shading. All that
piece or parcel of land commencing at peg figured 5
miles 30 chains on the existing Nelson Creek
Water-race, and ending at peg figured 5 miles
50 chains on same, having a width of 300 links
throughout; bounded to the North by a line 100
links distant from the centre of the said water-race
as constructed, and generally parallel to same; and
bounded to the South by a line 300 links distant
from the said northern boundary, and generally
parallel to same; as indicated on map by dotted
green lines and green shading. All that piece or
parcel of land commencing at peg figured 5 miles
50 chains on the existing Nelson Creek Water-race,
and ending at peg figured 5 miles 76 chains on same,
having a width of 250 links throughout; bounded to
the North by a line 100 links distant from the centre
of the said water-race as constructed, and generally
parallel to same; and bounded to the South by a line
250 links distant from the said northern boundary,
and generally parallel to same; as indicated on map
by dotted green lines and green shading. All
that piece or parcel of land commencing at peg
figured 5 miles 76 chains on the existing Nelson
Creek Water-race, and ending at peg figured
9 miles 60 chains on same, having a width of 250
links throughout; bounded to the North by a line
100 links distant from the centre of the said water-
race as constructed, and generally parallel to same;
and bounded to the South by a line 250 links distant
from the said northern boundary, and generally
parallel to same; as indicated on map by dotted
green lines and green shading. All that piece
or parcel of land commencing at peg figured 9 miles
60 chains on the existing Nelson Creek Water-race,
and ending at peg figured 16 miles 12 chains on
same, having a width of 300 links throughout;
bounded to the North by a line 100 links distant
from the centre of the said water-race as constructed,
and generally parallel to same; and bounded to the
South by a line 300 links distant from the said
northern boundary, and generally parallel to same;
as indicated on map by dotted green lines and
green shading. All that piece or parcel of land
commencing at peg figured 16 miles 12 chains on the
existing Nelson Creek Water-race, and ending at peg
figured 16 miles 23 chains 80 links on same, having a
width of 300 links throughout; bounded to the North
by a line 100 links distant from the centre of the said
water-race as constructed, and generally parallel to
same; and bounded to the South by a line 300 links
distant from the said northern boundary, and gene-
rally parallel to same; as indicated on map by
dotted green lines and green shading. All that
piece or parcel of land commencing at 5 miles 76
chains on the existing Nelson Creek Water-race,
being also peg 0 miles 0 chains on existing race,
known as Branch Race; thence following the
said existing branch race, and ending at peg figured
1 mile 54 chains on same, having a width of 250 links
throughout: bounded to the North by a line 150 links
distant from the centre of the said branch race as
constructed, and generally parallel to same; and
bounded to the South by a line 250 links distant from
the said northern boundary, and generally parallel to
same; as indicated on map by dotted green lines
and green shading. All that piece or parcel of
land commencing at 1 mile 54 chains on the race
known as the Branch Race, hereinbefore referred
to, being also peg 0 miles 0 chains on the existing
race known as the Branch to Magee's Race;
thence following the said Branch to Magee's Race,
and ended at peg figured 0 miles 18 chains 83 links
on same, having a width of 100 links throughout:
bounded to the East by a line 50 links distant from
the centre of the said Branch to Magee's Race
as constructed, and generally parallel to same; and
bounded to the West by a line 100 links distant from
the said eastern boundary, and generally parallel to
same; as indicated on map by dotted green lines
and green shading. All that piece or parcel of
land commencing at peg figured 1 mile 54 chains on
the race known as the Branch Race hereinbefore
referred to, being also peg 0 miles 0 chains on the
existing race known as the Waste Water Channel
No. 1; thence following the said Waste Water
Channel No. 1, and ending at peg figured 20 chains
40 links on same, having a width of 100 links
throughout: bounded to the East by a line 50 links
distant from the centre of the said Waste Water
Channel as constructed, and generally parallel to
same; and bounded to the West by a line 100 links
distant from the said eastern boundary, and gene-
rally parallel to same; as indicated on map by
dotted green lines and green shading. All that
piece or parcel of land commencing at peg figured
16 miles 12 chains on the existing Nelson Creek
Water-race, being also peg 0 miles 0 chains on the
existing race known as Waste Water Channel No.
2; thence following the said Waste Water Channel
No. 2, and ending at peg figured 0 miles 6 chains
on same, having a width of 400 links throughout:"

No. 2, as constructed, and generally parallel to same;
