5th February to be a Bank Holiday and 6th February
a Bank Half Holiday in Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and
authorities enabling in that behalf, I, Her-
cules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, by an Order in Council made under the
provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act, 1873," and
"The Bank Holidays Amendment Act, 1878," and
bearing even date herewith, I have declared that
Thursday, the fifth day of February next, shall be a
bank holiday, and Friday, the sixth day of February
next, shall be a bank half holiday within the Borough
of Wellington and the County of Hutt, under and
for the purposes of the said Acts.

Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty.

Proposed Loan of £50,000, Borough of Oamaru.

THE following notice, received from His Worship
the Mayor of Oamaru, is published in ac-
cordance with section 145 of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876."

Council Chambers,
Oamaru, 27th December, 1879.
SIR,—I hereby give you notice that a resolution of
the Corporation, under "The Oamaru Waterworks
Act 1875 Amendment Act, 1879," to borrow a
further sum of £50,000 for the purpose of completing
the works now in progress for the supply of water
to the said town, and pledging as security therefor
the rents and profits of the sections of land enume-
rated in the Schedule to "The Oamaru Town Reserves
Management Act, 1869," together with such sum
not exceeding 1s. in the pound out of the annual
assessment of the said town as may be required to
make up the annual interest upon the said sum,
hath been carried by the said Corporation, and as-
sented to in manner provided by the said Act by a
majority of the ratepayers of the said town.
