Certificate of Protection granted to the Phenix Ex-
tended Quartz Gold-Mining Company (Registered).
Mines Department,
Wellington, 31st July, 1880.
IN accordance with section 3 of "The Mines
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," this certifi-
cate of protection for twelve months, from the 31st
day of July, 1880, to the 31st day of July, 1881, is
granted in favour of Patrick Brennan, on behalf of
the Phenix Extended Quartz Gold-Mining Company
(Registered), for their lease of 13 acres 1 rood 33
perches, Inangahua District, Nelson. Lease No.
127R.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Ahaura on or before
the 10th day of August, 1880.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Ahaura.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: John Galway and party: 5 acres 2 roods
11 perches, at Try-Again Terrace, Nelson Creek, in
the Nelson South-West Mining District.
