NAPIER SWAMP NUISANCE ACTS.

To Joshua Strange Williams, Esq., Judge of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand, Dunedin; to the
legal representatives of Thomas Maberly Hassell,
Esq., Merchant, late of Christchurch, deceased;
and to William Reeves, of Christchurch, Esq.; or
other the owners or owner of Town Sections Nos.
378, 379, 380, 381, of the Borough of Napier.

NOTICE is hereby given, under and by virtue of
"The Napier Swamp Nuisance Act, 1875,"
"The Napier Swamp Nuisance Act Continuance Act
1877," and "The Napier Swamp Nuisance Acts
Amendment Act, 1879," that unless the sums of
£777 14s. 4 d. (for Section No. 378), £774 12s. 10 d.
(for Section No. 379), £832 0s. 10 d. (for Section No.
380), £794 9s. 2 d. (for Section No. 381), being the
actual cost of filling in and reclaiming your lands,
being Town Sections Nos. 378,379, 380, and 381, re-
spectively, on the plan of the Town of Napier, situate
in the Napier Town Swamp, together with interest
on the said sums from the day of the date hereof, at
the rate of six pounds per centum per annum, be paid
to the said Corporation on or before the 1st day of
February, 1881, the said land will, under and by
virtue of the provisions of the said Acts, be sold to
defray the cost of such filling in and reclamation
as aforesaid, and interest as aforesaid.

Dated at the Town Clerk's Office, Napier, this 24th
day of July, 1880.

BOROUGH OF ARROWTOWN WATERWORKS.

Proceedings under section 244, subsections 2 and 3,
of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and
sections 21 and 22, Part II., of "The Public
Works Act, 1876."

THE Borough Council of Arrowtown hereby give
notice that, having purchased from the Arrow
River United Gold-Mining Company (Limited) the
following water-rights, situate on Bush Creek,
Arrow River, Lake County, viz., License No. 536,
dated 18th March, 1869, containing two heads; License
No. 1333, dated 4th April, 1873, containing two heads;
License No. 5373, dated 6th February, 1872, contain-
ing four heads; in all eight Government-heads of
water, or 320 inches superficial, hitherto held under
"The Gold Fields Act, 1866," for mining purposes
only, it intends to use the same for the supply of
water for the inhabitants of the Borough of Arrow-
town, to construct waterworks in connection there-
with, and and to take such water, under the provisions
of the above recited Acts, for the sole use of the
inhabitants of the said borough for the purposes
aforesaid. The head or source of such water-supply
is situated at a point on Bush Creek, Arrow River,
aforesaid, about 85 chainsin a north-westerly direction
from the western boundary of the Borough of Arrow-
town; and the race and water-pipe track, to convey
the said water to the said borough boundary, is to
run parallel (or nearly so) with the said Bush Creek
from such head-water until it reaches the said borough
boundary.

The plans of the above waterworks are to be seen
at the Council Chambers, Arrowtown, for forty
days from the date of this notice, between the hours
of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Any person objecting to the taking of the said
water as above specified must send such objections
in writing to the Town Clerk of the Borough of
Arrowtown within forty days from the first
publication of this notice.

BOROUGH OF ARROWTOWN WATERWORKS.

Borough of Arrowtown, it intends taking the follow-
ing lands for the construction of a weir, water-race,
and water-pipe track, under the provisions of the
above-recited Acts, viz.: All that parcel of Crown
land, 150 feet square, including either bank of Bush
Creek, Arrow River, Lake County, about 85 chains
from the western boundary of the Borough of Arrow-
town, at the head of a pegged survey-line; from
thence 7 feet on either side of said pegged line in a
south-easterly direction for about 30 chains through
John Beutel's leased land; thence 7 feet on either
side of said pegged line for about 21 chains through
Crown lands; thence 18 inches on either side of said
pegged line for about 18 chains along a county road
until reaching Harrison's Woolshed; thence 18 inches
on either side of said pegged line in an easterly direc-
tion for about 16 chains along a county road to its
junction with the said western boundary of the
Borough of Arrowtown.

The plans of the above lands are to be seen at
the Council Chambers, Arrowtown, for forty days
from the date of this notice, between the hours of 10
a.m. and 4 p.m.

Any person objecting to the taking of the said
lands as above specified must send such objections
in writing to the Town Clerk of the Borough of
Arrowtown within forty days from the first publica-
tion of this notice.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 22,
Part II., of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
that a plan of the inland road from Foxton to Otaki,
together with a general description of the work pro-
posed to be executed thereon, and the lands taken,
signed by the Chairman of the Manawatu County
Council, is open for inspection at the house of John
Kebbell, Esq., at Ohau, within the Otaki Highway
District, at all reasonable hours. A copy thereof is
also deposited at the County Council Office, Foxton,
for public inspection during office hours. All persons
affected by the execution of the said works, or the
taking of such lands, must set forth their objections,
if any, in writing, and send such writing within forty
days from the 17th day of July, 1880, addressed to
the Chairman of the Manawatu County Council, at
Feilding.
