shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor.
5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the mem-
bers present shall choose some one of their number
to be Chairman of such meeting.
6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise, the office of Chairman shall be or become
vacant, the members may at any monthly or special
meeting appoint a Chairman.
7. All questions shall be determined by the ma-
jority of votes of the members of the Board present
at a meeting.

Approving Temporary Alteration of Lines of Train-
ing-walls, Wanganui River.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of July, 1880.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Harbours Act, 1878," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that no harbour
work shall be constructed by any Harbour Board
until the plan of the said work has been approved of
by the Governor in Council, and that the work shall
not be altered without the like approval: And
whereas a certain plan, marked M.D. 111, showing
the lines of the training-wall to be made by the
Wanganui Harbour Board in the River Wanganui,
was approved by the Governor in Council on the
twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight: And whereas it is
advisable to alter temporarily the line of such
training-wall:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby approve of a plan of a temporary alteration
of the lines of the training-walls as shown on the
plan marked M.D. 385, the said plan being deposited
in the office of the Marine Department, Wellington.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
ninth day of July, 1880.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

HIS Excellency the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in him by the thirteenth clause of
"The Electric Telegraph Act, 1875," and of all other
powers enabling him in that behalf, doth, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of New
Zealand, make the regulation contained in the Sche-
dule hereto; and, in further pursuance and exercise
of the said powers, and with the like advice and con-
sent as aforesaid, doth hereby order and declare that
such regulations shall take effect and remain in force
from and after the first day of August, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty, and that they
shall be read with and form part of the regulations
now in force.

SCHEDULE.

ALL telegrams despatched to or forwarded from the
under-mentioned stations shall bear a charge of six-
pence on each telegram in addition to the tariff rates
now in force.
