will admit of the use thereon of engines and carriages
constructed for use upon a gauge of 3 feet 6 inches;
such tramway to be laid so that the outer rail
of one line shall be at a distance of 10 feet at least
from the building-line of the street, and that
the inner rails of each line shall not be more than
6 feet apart: And also to make, construct, and main-
tain, and to use and work, in, through, over, and upon
the several streets, roads, and places in the said
Borough of Caversham mentioned and described in the
second and third parts of the said First Schedule, and
in the Second Schedule hereto, a single line of tram-
way, consisting of two rails of iron or steel, laid at
the like gauge as aforesaid, to be laid in such manner
that there shall be a distance of 10 feet at the least
between the building-line of each and every such
street and the rail of the tramway which is nearest to
snch building-line: And also to make, construct, and
maintain, and to use and work, in, through, over, and
upon that part of the street or road called the
Anderson's Bay Road, which is situate within the
said Borough of Caversham, a double line of tramway,
each line to consist of two rails of iron or steel, laid
at the like gauge as aforesaid, in such manner that
the outer rail of one line shall be at a distance of
10 feet at the least from the building-line of the said
street or road, and that the inner rails of each line
shall not be more than 6 feet apart.
And notice is hereby further given that the said
several lines of tramway are intended to be used both
for goods and passenger traffic; and that a copy of
this advertisement and a proper plan and section of
the proposed works, and all other documents required
to be deposited under the provisions of "The Tram-
ways Act, 1872," will, on or before the 23rd day of
July next, be deposited for public inspection in the
office of the Registrar at Dunedin of the Supreme
Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District;
at the office of the Borough Council of Caversham;
and also at the office in the City of Wellington of
His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand: and
that printed copies of the draft order, when deposited
pursuant to part three of the Third Schedule of "The
Tramways Act, 1872," and of the order when made,
will be deposited at the offices of Messrs Haggitt
Brothers and Brent, in High Street, Dunedin, the
Solicitors for the said David Proudfoot.

THE FIRST SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.
FIRST PART.
COMMENCING at the point of junction of Park Street
and the Hillside Road, and extending along the last-
named road to the Cargill Road.
SECOND PART.
Commencing at a point on the Hillside Road, near
where the southern trunk line of railway (Amberley
to Bluff) crosses the said road, and crossing Section
12, Block VII., Town District, in a line parallel to
and adjoining the said railway to Wilkie Road; thence
along Wilkie Road to the railway crossing in the line
of Cargill Street; and thence crossing the said railway
there into Cargill Street, thence along Cargill Street
to Gillies Street, and thence along that street to Lees
Street, thence along that street to the Main South
road, and thence along the Main South Road to a
point in the Township of St. Andrews 2 chains west
of College Street.
THIRD PART.
Commencing at the point of junction of St. David
Street with the Main South Road, and extending along
St. David Street to the point of junction of that street
with the Forbury Road.
THE SECOND SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.
COMMENCING at the point of junction of the For-
bury Road with the Main South Road, and extending
along the Forbury Road to the Sandhills at the Ocean
Beach.

NORTH-EAST VALLEY BOROUGH TRAMWAY.
In the matter of "The Tramways Act, 1872," and
in the matter of an application intended to be made
by DAVID PROUDFOOT, of Dunedin, Contractor, for
an order empowering him to make, construct, and
maintain, and to use and work, a Tramway and
other works in the Borough of North-East Valley,
under the provisions of the said Act.
NOTICE is hereby given that, at the expiration of
thirty days from the publication hereof, appli-
cation is intended to be made to His Excellency the
Governor of New Zealand for an order empowering
David Proudfoot, of Dunedin, Contractor, to make,
construct, and maintain, and to use and work, a line
of Tramway, with necessary sidings and other works
in connection therewith, within the Borough of
North-East Valley; the said line of tramway to be
a single line, consisting of two steel rails, laid at such
a gauge as will admit of the use upon such tramway
of engines and carriages constructed for use upon
a gauge of 3 feet 6 inches; such line to com-
mence at a point in the said borough near the
northern terminus of the Dunedin City Tramways,
that is to say, a point at the northern boundary of
the Town Belt beyond Great King Street, Dunedin,
and to terminate at another point in the said borough
being the southernmost corner or angle of Section
No. 56, North-East Valley District, and to be laid
and constructed in, along, and through the centre of
the road or street called or known as North-East
Valley Road, the centre of the space between the
rails of the said tramway to be as nearly as may
be in the centre of the said street or road.
And notice is hereby further given that the said
line of tramway is intended to be used both for
