Revocation of Exemption of certain Land from Occu-
pation for Mining, &c., Purposes within the Nelson
South-West Gold Field Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the eigh-
teenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-eight, His Excellency the Governor
did proclaim and declare that the land described in
the First Schedule hereto was exempted from occu-
pation for mining purposes, or for water-races, dams,
or reservoirs, or for machine, business, or residence
sites:
And whereas it is expedient and desirable that the
said exemption should be revoked:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by virtue of the power and authority vested in me
by the eighth section of "The Mines Act, 1877,"
do hereby revoke the exemption contained in the
Proclamation above mentioned, and referring to the
land described in the First Schedule hereto; save and
except the lands described in the Second, Third, and
Fourth Schedules hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
A BREADTH of one mile on each side of the Waima-
ngaroa River, beginning at the crossing of the West-
port and Ngakawau Railway, and extending up the
river to the confluence of the south branch with main
stream.

All that parcel of land in the Survey
District of Kawatiri, Provincial District of
Nelson, being part of the Buller Coal Field
Reserve, containing by admeasurement
15 acres 2 roods and 25 perches, be
the same more or less, the boundaries
whereof are as follow: Commencing at a
point on the western boundary of Buller
Coal Reserve, 36341 links north-easterly
from the westernmost corner of said reserve.
Bounded-Generally Southerly and Wes-
terly by lines, 291, 597, 3013, 315, 315, 65,
360, 350, 1113, 480, 647, 265, and 260
links respectively; South-easterly by a line,
200 links; generally Easterly and Northerly
by lines to a point on the western boundary-
line of the Buller Coal Reserve, 220, 240,
647, 406, 1113, 450, 450, 65, 372, 372,
3013, and 682 links respectively; North-
westerly by the boundary-line aforesaid to
commencing point, 330 links: be the afore-
said measurements more or less; as the
same is more particularly delineated upon
the plan marked P.W.D. 7409, deposited in
the office of the Minister for Public Works
at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, and also upon the plan marked
C.F.D. 1, deposited in the Warden's office
at Westport, in the Provincial District of
Nelson.
For the use of the
Wellington Coal-
Mining Company
(Limited), for
their tramways,
bridges, inclines,
and staiths; and
for the purpose of
connecting their
mine with the
Westport-Ngaka-
wau Railway.
SECOND SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Survey Dis-
trict of Kawatiri, Provincial District of
Nelson, containing by admeasurement 2
acres 1 rood, be the same more or less,
the boundaries whereof are as follow:
Commencing at a point on the western
boundary of Buller Coal Reserve, 36341 links
north-easterly from the westernmost corner
of said reserve. Bounded - Southerly
by lines, 590 and 350 links respectively:
Westerly by a line, 180 links; North-
westerly by a line, 200 links; Northerly
by lines, 230 and 881 links respectively,
to a point on the aforesaid boundary
of Buller Coal Reserve; South-easterly
by said boundary to commencing point,
330 links: be all the aforesaid measure-
ments more or less; as the same is
more particularly delineated upon the
plan marked P.W.D. 7409, deposited in
the office of the Minister for Public Works
at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, and also upon the plan marked
C.F.D. 1, deposited in the Warden's Office
at Westport, in the Provincial District of
Nelson.

All that parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 107 acres, commencing at
a point in the Buller Coal Reserve, on the
boundary-line of the parcel of land taken
by Proclamation dated the 2nd December,
1879, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 121, of the 4th December,
1879, 600 links south of the Wellington
Coal-Mining Company's bridge. Bounded
as follows: Generally Southerly by a cur-
vilinear line, 2700 links; Westerly by a
line, 430 links; generally Southerly by
lines, 1700 links, 4250 links, 700 links, and
1450 links respectively; Westerly by a line,
1450 links; generally Southerly by lines,
1920, 870, 1030, and 1300 links respec-
tively; Easterly by a line, 1100 links;
Northerly by lines, 2200 and 2460 links
respectively; Westerly by a line, 650 links;
generally North-easterly by lines, 3050 and
3220 links respectively; Easterly by a line,
400 links; generally Northerly by the Wai-
mangaroa River to the commencing point.
All that parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 30 acres, commencing at a
point on the Wellington Coal-Mining Com-
pany's line, as described in a Proclamation
dated the 2nd December, 1879, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette No.
121, of the 4th December, 1879: and pro-
ceeding thence in a generally north-easterly
direction for a distance of 100 chains, and
ending at a point in the Koranui Coal
Mining Company's lease, and having a
general width throughout of 300 links.
All the above measurements being more
or less, and situated in the Buller Coal
Field Reserve, Survey District of Kawatiri,
Provincial District of Nelson; as the same
are more particularly delineated upon the
plans marked P.W.D. 7847 and 6314, de-
posited in the office of the Minister for
Public Works at Wellington, in the Pro-
vincial District of Wellington, and also
upon the plans marked C.F.D. 2 and 3,
deposited in the Warden's office at West-
port, in the Provincial District of Nelson.
For the use of

liery Company
(Limited), for
their tramways,
