PATENT for an Improvement in Packing-tins.
JOSEPH PIPER, of Christchurch, Tinsmith, has
deposited at this office a specification of the said
invention; and I have appointed Friday, the 1st day
of October next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, at this
office, to hear the said application and all objections
thereto; and I require all persons having an interest
in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave,
on or before the 27th day of September next, at this
office, particulars in writing of their objections to
the said application, otherwise they will be precluded
from urging the same.

ROSLYN TRAMWAY.
In the matter of "The Tramways Act, 1872," and in
the matter of an application intended to be made
by the Roslyn Tramway Company (Limited)
for an order empowering them to make and use a
Main Tramway in the City of Dunedin, under the
provisions of the said Act.

OTICE is hereby given that, at the expira-
tion of thirty days from the publication
hereof, application is intended to be made to His
Excellency the Governor of New Zealand for an
order empowering the Roslyn Tramway Company
(Limited) to make and use a main line of tramway,
with necessary sidings and other works in connection
therewith respectively, within the City of Dunedin.
The said main line of tramway to be a single line,
with sidings where necessary, and to consist of two
rails laid at such a gauge as will admit of the use
thereon of railway carriages, constructed for use upon
a gauge of 3 feet 6 inches, and the inner rails of such
line being not more than 4 feet apart; commencing at a
point in Rattray Street where it intersects Maclaggan
Street, and terminating in the Town Belt, at a point
distant about 18 chains from the intersection of its
southern boundary with Rattray Street, and to be laid
and constructed in, along, and through Rattray Street
and Town Belt to the termination. The centre of
the space between the inner rails to be, as nearly as
may be, 9 feet from the centre line of the street from
the commencement to intersection of York Place,
and 18 feet from the centre line of Rattray Street
between York Place intersection and termination;
proper allowance being made for radii or curves at
the intersection of streets.
And notice is hereby further given that the said
main tramway is intended to be used both for goods
and passenger traffic; and that a copy of this adver-
tisement, and a proper plan and section of the proposed
works, and all other documents required to be
deposited under the provisions of "The Tramways
Act, 1872," will, on or before the 6th day of July
next, be deposited for public inspection in the office
of the Registrar at Dunedin of the Supreme Court
of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, and
in the City Council Chambers, Town Hall Buildings,
in the Octagon, Dunedin (the office of the City
Council of the City of Dunedin), and also at the
office in the City of Wellington of His Excellency
the Governor of New Zealand; and that printed
copies of the draft order, when deposited pursuant to
part three of the Third Schedule to "The Tramways
Act, 1872," and of the order when made, will be
deposited at the offices of Messrs. Duncan and
Macgregor, Albert Buildings, in Princes Street,
Dunedin, the Solicitors for the said Roslyn Tram-
way Company (Limited).

diploma with the Registrar of the Christchurch Dis-
trict; and that I intend to apply to be registered
under the New Zealand Medical Act in one month
from date hereof.

I, FREDERICK EVERARD HUNT, lately of
*Kirkdale, Sydenham, in the County of Kent,
England, but now of Woolston, Christchurch, in the
Provincial District of Canterbury, New Zealand,
hereby give notice that I have this day given notice
to the Registrar of the Christchurch District that I
intend to make application, on the 7th day of July
next, to be registered under the the New Zea-
land Medical Act; and that I have submitted my
diplomas, as physician and surgeon, to the inspection
of the Registrar; and that I have deposited with
him, in the terms of the said Act, the certificate of
the registration of the said diplomas by the Council
of Medical Education and Registration of the United
Kingdom.
