NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A
WATER-RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Cromwell of the Mining
District of Otago Gold Fields, and all others whom
it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race, and divert water from the creek at
Wanaka Road and Upper-Punt Crossing Junctions,
commencing quarter of a mile above the road and
terminating at Section 3, Block 1X.. Tarras District,
for irrigation, domestic, and all other purposes con-
templated in section 31, subsection 1, of "The
Mines Act, 1877."
Dated this 25th day of May, 1880.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A
WATER-RACE.
Tuapeka, 5th May, 1880.
To the Warden at Waipori.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for
mining purposes, commencing at a point on the Lam-
merlaw Creek at the head of McCrea's Flat, Lam-
merlaw, and terminating one mile below Butchers
Point. The length of such race is six miles or there-
abouts, and its intended course is north-west by south-
east. The mean depth of such race is 1 foot 8 inches,
and the mean breadth is 2 feet, and it is proposed to
divert ten Government-heads of water.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to
register the Southland Mining and Quartz-
Crushing Company (Limited) as a Limited Company
under the provisions of "The Mining Companies
Act, 1872."
- The name of the Company is to be the Southland Mining
and Quartz-crushing Company (Limited). - The place of intended operations is at Longwood, in the
County of Wallace, in the Colony of New Zealand. - The registered office of the Company will be situated at
Invercargill, in the said colony. - The nominal capital of the Company is twenty thousand
pounds sterling, in twenty thousand shares of one pound each. - The number of shares subscribed for is twenty thousand,
the whole number. - The number of paid-up shares is nil.
- The amount already paid up is three hundred pounds.
- The name of the Manager is David Flemington.
- The names, addresses, and occupations of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,
