General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following name of an Officiating Minister
within the meaning of the said Act is published for
general information :—

Terms and Conditions for Hiring Diamond Rock-
Boring Machine.

Wellington, 28th May, 1880.

A PPLICATIONS will be received at this office
from persons desirous of hiring a Diamond
Rock-boring Machine, capable of boring at various
angles a core of $1\frac{1}{2}$ inch diameter to a depth of 1,500
feet, with all steam appliances complete, accompanied
by an engineer in charge and assistants, at the price
of—

10/ per foot for the first 100 feet, or any part of 100 feet, bored.

21/ " fifth " " "
25/ " sixth " " "
30/ " seventh " " "
35/ " eighth " " "
40/ " ninth " " "
45/ " tenth " " "

and upon the following conditions:---

  1. After one thousand feet special rates will be
    charged.

  2. All applications must be accompanied by a
    deposit of £50 for the first hundred or any less
    number of feet bored. Further payments to be
    made monthly, upon a fixed day, according to the
    above scale, as the work proceeds.

  3. The scale of charges is exclusive of fuel and
    water, which will be supplied by the hirer.

  4. The hirer will be at the charge of sinking and
    protecting any shaft which may be necessary for
    finding the rock before boring operations commence,
    and the measurement of depth bored will be from the
    surface of the rock.

  5. The hirer to find covering-shed for the
    machinery.

  6. The engineer in charge will deliver to the hirer
    an accurate account of the depths of the borings,
    and all cores of rocks bored will be the property of
    the hirer.

  7. The machine will be removed if the hirer causes
    any unreasonable delays or obstacles to prevent its
    continuous working, or if payment for its hire is not
    regularly made.

formed bridle-road runs through these sections.

Section 2, broken fern and tutu hills, with a little
bush, excellent soil on river flat; Sections 3 and 4;
undulating fern and tutu hills, with a little bush, ex-
cellent soil on river flats; Section 6, broken fern and
tutu hills, excellent soil on river flat: a well-formed
bridle-road runs through Sections 2, 3, and 4.
