Amended Proclamation of Shooting Season, Marl-
borough.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation made under "The
Protection of Animals Act, 1873," dated the
sixteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty, it was, amongst other things, enacted
that cock-pheasants and Californian quail may be
hunted, shot, taken, or killed between the first day
of May and the thirtieth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, within the Electoral Dis-
trict of Picton: And whereas it is expedient to amend
such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the
said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that cock-
pheasants and Californian quail shall be open to be
hunted, shot, taken, or killed, within the Provincial
District of Marlborough, from the first day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty, to the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, but only between the hours of sunrise and
sunset.

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto
annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred
payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on
deferred payments; and that Thursday, the first
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, shall be the day on which the said land
shall be open for application at the Land Office at
Invercargill, in allotments as surveyed and marked
on the selection map in that office.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.
