Re-defining Districts under "The Licensing
Act, 1873."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act, 1873," it
is, amongst other things, enacted that the
Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be
after the passing of the said Act, by Proclamation in
the Government Gazette, define such territorial divi-
sions as he may think proper to be licensing districts
for the purposes of the said Act, and from time to
time may alter and re-define the boundaries of the
same:
And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the
twenty-third day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four, the District of Mahurangi
was, amongst others, constituted under the said
"Licensing Act, 1873:" And whereas by a Pro-
clamation bearing date the thirty-first day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, the
District of Kaipara was constituted under the said
"Licensing Act, 1873:" And whereas it is ex-
pedient to alter and re-define the boundaries of the
said districts:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance of the provisions of the herein-
before recited Act, and of every power and authority
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby alter and rede-
fine the boundaries of the said Districts of Mahu-
rangi and Kaipara, as the same are defined and set
forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
KAIPARA DISTRICT.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, bounded towards the North by right lines
from the Maunganui Bluff to and along the summit
of the Tutamoe Range to its most eastern peak, and
thence by a right line to the confluence of the
Wairua and Mangaharuru Rivers; towards the
South-east by the Wairua River to its junction with
the Mangakahia River; thence towards the North-
east by a right line to the Waionepu River at the
north-western angle of the Parish of Maunga-
karamea, and by the south-western boundary of said
parish to the Tauraroa River; towards the South-
east by the said Tauraroa River to its junction with
the Manganui River; again towards the North-east
and North by the said Manganui River and the
Parishes of Mareretu and Waipu to the sea, and by
the sea to the eastern angle of the Parish of Arai;
again towards the South-east by a line forming the
south-eastern boundary of the said Parish of Arai
and the Hoteo River to the Kaipara Harbour; again
towards the North-east by a right line from the
mouth of the Hoteo River to the East Coast at the
mouth of the Orewa River, thence by the sea to the
Weiti River; towards the South by the Parishes of
Okura and Pukeatua to the south-eastern angle of
the Parish of Kaukapakapa, thence towards the
North by a right line to the source of the Rangitopune
River; towards the East by that river and by the
Waitemata River and Brigham's Creek to the nor-
thern boundary of the Parish of Waipareira; again
towards the South by the Parishes of Waipareira and
Waitakerei to the sea; towards the West by the sea
to the Maunganui Bluff, the starting point: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey
Office, Auckland.
MAHURANGI DISTRICT.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, bounded towards the North-west by the
Hoteo River and the Parish of Arai to the sea;
towards the East by the sea to the mouth of the Orewa
River; and towards the South-west by a right line
from thence to the mouth of the Hoteo River: includ-
ing the Islands of Kawau, Motukeka, Motureka,
Orawaike, Motuhora, and Tiritirimatangi: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Sur-
vey Office, Auckland.
