altered.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Otago Municipal Corpora-
tions Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1866,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice
and consent of his Executive Council, by Proclama-
tion in the Government Gazette of the said province,
from time to time to alter in any way he may think
fit the boundaries of any municipality at any time
proclaimed under the said recited Ordinance, and
also to increase or diminish the number of wards,
and to name or alter the name and boundaries of any
or every ward of any such municipality:
And whereas by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," it is, among other things, enacted that all
powers, duties, and functions which, immediately
before the date of the abolition of any province, were,
under or by virtue of any law not expressly or im-
pliedly repealed or altered thereby, vested in or to be
exercised or performed by the Superintendent of
such abolished province, either alone or with the
advice and consent of or on the recommendation of
the Executive or Provincial Council of such province,
shall vest in and be exercised and performed by the
Governor:
And whereas the Corporation of the Town of
North Invercargill has been constituted under the
provisions of "The Otago Municipal Corporations
Ordinance, 1865," and it is expedient that the boun-
daries of the said municipality should be altered as
hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and
authorities enabling me in that behalf under the said
hereinbefore respectively in part recited Ordinance
and Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
boundaries of the said Corporation of the Town of
North Invercargill as at present existing shall be and
the same are hereby altered by including within the
limits of the said municipality the parcel of land
described in the First Schedule hereto; and that the
boundaries of the said borough shall be those
described in the Second Schedule hereto; and that
the said borough shall be divided into three wards as
described in the Third Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
being Section No. 33 of Block I., Invercargill
Hundred, and a road-line. Bounded towards the
North by a road-line and Sections Nos. 36, 37, and
38; towards the East by a road-line and Section No.
35; towards the South by the Municipality of North
Invercargill; and towards the West by the Park
Reserve, being Section No. 22, and by Section No.
26: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the District Survey Office, Invercargill.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North by a road-line and
Sections Nos. 36, 37, and 38, of Block I., Invercargill
Hundred; towards the East by a road-line and
Sections No. 35 and 34; again towards the North by
said Section No. 34; towards the North-east by
Section No. 6; towards the South-east by Section
No. 5, 4, and 3, all of the said Block I., and the
Borough of East Invercargill; and towards the
West by the Park Reserve, being Section No. 22 of
Block I., and Section No. 26 of same block: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District
Survey Office, Invercargill.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
SOUTH WARD.
ALL that area in the Municipality of North Inver-
cargill, as before described, south of the northern
side of Princess Street, and that side produced in
both directions to boundaries of municipality.
CENTRAL WARD.
All that area in the Municipality of North Inver-
vercargill, as before described, lying between the
northern side of Anu Street and that side produced,
and Princess Street produced to municipal boun-
daries.
NORTH WARD.
All that area in the Municipality of North Inver-
cargill lying north of the Central Ward, before
described.

Proclamation of Mining Districts under "The
Regulation of Mines Act, 1874."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Mines Act
1874," it is enacted that the Governor may,
for the purposes of this Act, from time to time pro-
claim and define one or more mining districts within
any province in which this Act shall be in force, with
such boundaries as he may think convenient; and the
Governor may from time to time alter the boundaries
of any district, and he may also assign to such district
a name by which it may be known for the purposes
of this Act:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
contained in the hereinbefore in part recited Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the mining districts
within the Provincial Districts of Auckland, Marl-
borough, Nelson, Westland, Canterbury, and Otago,
described in the Schedule hereto under the names set
over each district, shall be mining districts within the
meaning and for the purposes of "The Regulation of
Mines Act, 1874."
