A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by "The Protection of Animals Act,
1873," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," and in exercise of every other power enabling
me in that behalf, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare that game of the
kinds hereinafter mentioned, shall be open to be
hunted, shot, taken, or killed within the limits of the
districts hereinafter mentioned during the periods
hereinafter set forth, but that such game shall only
be so hunted, shot, taken, or killed between the hours
of sunrise and sunset:-
Within the Provincial District of Auckland,-
Pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian
quail, between the 1st day of May, 1880, and
the 31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Taranaki and Patea,-
Cock-pheasants, between the 1st day of May,
1880, and the 31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Wanganui and Rangi-
tikei,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of May, 1880, and the 31st day
of July, 1880.
Within the County of Manawatu,-
Cock-pheasants, Californian quail, and hares,
between the 1st day of May, 1880, and the
31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of May, 1880, and the 31st day
of July, 1880. Hares to be hunted (coursed)
between the 1st day of June, 1880, and the
31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Wairarapa East and Wai-
rarapa West,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of May, 1880, and the 31st day
of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Waimea, Collingwood, and
Buller,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 17th day of May, 1880, and the 31st day
of July, 1880.
Within the Electoral District of Picton,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of May, 1880, and the 30th day
of June, 1880.
Within the Counties of Amuri, Kaikoura, Cheviot,
Ashley, Akaroa, Selwyn, and Ashburton,-
Cock-pheasants, between the 1st day of June,
1880, and the 30th day of June, 1880. Hares
to be hunted (coursed) between the 1st day
of May, 1880, and the 31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Geraldine and Waimate,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of June, 1880, and the 30th day
of June, 1880. Hares to be hunted (coursed)
between the 1st day of May, 1880, and the 31st
day of July, 1880.
Within the County of Waitaki,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of June, 1880, and the 31st day
of July, 1880. Hares to be hunted (coursed)
between the 1st day of May, 1880, and the
31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Waikouaiti, Maniototo,
Vincent, Lake, Peninsula, Taieri, Bruce,
Clutha, and Tuapeka,-
Cock-pheasants and Californian quail, between
the 1st day of June, 1880, and the 31st day of
July, 1880. Hares, between the 1st day of
May, 1880, and the 31st day of July, 1880.
Within the Counties of Southland and Wallace,-
Hares to be hunted (coursed) between the 1st
day of May, 1880, and the 31st day of July,
1880.
Within the Counties of Grey and Inangahua,-
Cock-pheasants, between the 24th day of May,
1880, and the 7th day of June, 1880.
