A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the twentieth
section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act,
1879," I, Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedule
hereto for sale as a village settlement, upon such
terms and conditions as are set forth in an Order in
Council of even date herewith, and made under the
twenty-first section of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.โFERN HILL VILLAGE
SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
being the Village of Fern Hill; and bounded towards
the North by Sections numbered thirty-four (34)
and thirty-five (35) of the Hokonui Survey District;
towards the North-east by Sections numbered two
hundred and four (204) and one hundred and eighty-
one (181) of the said district; towards the South by
Section numbered one hundred and forty-two (142);
towards the East by Sections numbered one hundred
and forty-two (142), one hundred and sixty (160),
and two hundred and five (205) of the said Hokonui
District; again towards the South by Section num-
bered one hundred and thirty-seven A (137A) and
one hundred and thirty-five A (135A) to the Oreti
River; and towards the West by that river.

Terms and Conditions of Sale, Fern Hill Village
Settlement.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of March, 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twenty-first section of "The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," it is
enacted that the Governor in Council may fix the
terms and conditions upon which the lands comprised
in any village settlement shall be disposed of, and
the mode of payment for the same: And whereas
the Governor has, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, bearing date this eighteenth day of March,
set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedules
hereto for sale as a village settlement:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the hereinbefore in part
recited Act, and by and with the advice of the Execu-
tive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth
hereby fix the following terms and conditions upon
which the said village settlement shall be disposed of,
and the mode of payment for the same, that is to
say,โ

The lands enumerated in the Schedules hereto
shall all be disposed of as small farm allotments. -
The day upon which the lands shall be open for
application shall be Monday, the twenty-sixth day
of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, at
the Land Office at Invercargill. -
The lands enumerated in the First Schedule
hereto shall be sold for cash immediately on purchase,
and the lands enumerated in the Second Schedule
hereto shall be sold on deferred payments. -
The lands which are disposed of by sale upon
deferred payments shall be subject to the provisions
relating to rural land of Part III. of "The Land Act,
1877," and to the provisions of section nine of "The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879." -
The prices stated in the Schedules hereto shall
be the prices at which the lands shall be open for
application.
