Districts constituted under "The Marriage Act
Amendment Act, 1858."

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by "The Marriage Act
Amendment Act, 1858," I, Sir Hercules George
Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of for-
mer Proclamations duly made and issued in pur-
suance of the said power and authority as relate
to the under-mentioned districts constituted for the
purposes of the said Act, the boundaries whereof were
therein set forth, viz.: The Cambridge, Alexandra,
Tauranga, Thames, Raglan, and Mohaka and Wairoa
Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the terri-
tories formerly comprised within the said districts
shall be and the same are hereby divided for the pur-
poses of the said Act into seven districts, the names
and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:β€”

HAMILTON DISTRICT.

Bounded on the North by a straight line from
Putakauere on the Waikato River, in the direction of
the summit of Te Aroha Mountain, to the intersec-
tion by said line of the western boundary of Te
Aroha Block; thence by the western and northern
boundary of Te Aroha Block to its intersection by a
line drawn from the summit of Te Aroha to Whanga-
mata South Head; thence southerly by such line to
Te Aroha; thence by the Tauranga confiscated line
to the southern boundary of Te Aroha Block; thence
by the southern boundaries of Te Aroha, Hunga-
hunga No. 2, Orongomairoa, and Waihekau Blocks
to the intersection by a straight line drawn from the
summit of Te Aroha to Pukemoremore; thence by
that line and by the southern boundary of the Parish
of Tamahere to the Waikato River; thence by the
said river to the southern boundary of the Parish of
Te Rapa; thence by the southern boundary lines of
the Parishes of Te Rapa and Tuhikaramea to the
Waipa River; thence by the said river to the
southern boundary of the Parish of Karamu, and by
said boundary to the summit of the Te Rehi Range,
where the Native track crosses said range; thence by
a line to the summit of the Tera Ranges, and by the
watershed of the said Tera and Hakarimata Ranges

to the northernmost end; thence by a straight line
to the southern shore of Wangape Lake; thence by
the shore of the lake to the north-east angle of
Allotment No. 32 of the Parish of Wangape; thence
by a straight line to the Waikato River at Puta-
kauere, the point of commencement.

CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT.

Bounded on the North-west by the Hamilton
Registration District hereinbefore described; thence
towards the East by the Tauranga confiscated boun-
dary to Poutihi; thence by a straght line to Te
Whetu Native Settlement; thence by a straight line
to the Waikato River at Ateamuri; thence towards
the South and West by the said river to the mouth
of the Little Waipa River; thence by a straight
line to the summit of Maungatautari; thence by a
straight line to the south end of the line forming
the boundary between the Parishes of Puniu and
Pukekura; thence by the western boundary of the
Parish of Pukekura to the Hamilton Registration
District.

TE AWAMUTU DISTRICT.

Bounded on the North and East by the Hamilton
and Cambridge Registration Districts to Ateamuri on
the Waikato River; thence by a straight line to Lake
Taupo at the mouth of the Waihora River; thence
towards the South by a straight line to the summit of
Pukearuhe; thence by a straight line to Te Rua
Point on the West Coast; and towards the West by
the coast line northwards into Kawhia Harbour to
the mouth of the Kauri Creek; thence by a straight
line to the summit of Pirongia; thence by the western
boundary of the Parish of Pirongia to Te Rehi on
the southern boundary of Hamilton Registration
District.

TAURANGA DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the North-east by the sea from
the south head of Whangamata River to the Wha-
katane River; towards the East by the Whakatane
River aforesaid to its source; thence by a line to the
source of the Ohiwa or Waikare River, and by that
river to Lake Waikare-Moana; towards the South
by the northern margin of Lake Waikare-Moana
aforesaid; and thence by a straight line to Lake
Taupo at the point where the Waikato River leaves
said lake; thence by the northern shore of the lake
