SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Rural Section No. 7538,
in the Waipara Road District, the said point being
the termination of the Waipara portion of said
railway, as described in the Proclamation dated the
18th April, 1879, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 46, of the 24th April 1879; proceeding
thence in a generally northerly direction for a distance
of 9 miles 4:50 chains or thereabouts, passing in, into,
through, or over the following lands, &c.: Sections
Nos. 7538, 11146, 11142, I.P.R. E, I.P.R. W, I.P.R.
F, 25301, I.P.R. G, I.P.R. H, 21128, 4591, 4592,
4357, 4300, 5236, I.P.R. 34067, 8198, 6295, 9784,
10005, R. 1144, and terminating at a point in Section
No. 7540, including all adjoining roads, reserves,
streams, rivers, and watercourses; all within the
Waipara Road District, Provincial District of Can-
terbury, Colony of New Zealand; in the manner
delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 7446,
signed by the Honorable Richard Oliver, Minister
for Public Works, deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, in
the Provincial District of Canterbury; the total
length being 9 miles 4:50 chains or thereabouts.

Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony

Dunedin, this seventeenth day of Febru-
ary, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty.

Amending Crossing-places under "The Sheep Act,
1878."-Notice No. 24.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the forty-fourth
section of "The Sheep Act, 1878," and of all other
powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf,
I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and order that the places mentioned in the Schedule
hereto shall be places at which all sheep to be intro-
duced by land into the several sheep districts in the
Schedule hereto respectively mentioned shall be
crossed over the boundaries of such districts.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY AND WAIAU SHEEP DISTRICTS.

THE ferry on the Waiau-ua River, known as
Arthur's or Upper Waiau Ferry.

The ford or bridge on the Waiau-ua River,
opposite the homestead of Leslie Hill's Run.

The ford on the Waiau-ua River, about opposite
the Township of Waiau.

The ford or bridge on the Hurunui River, on the
Great North Road.

On the boundary of the Canterbury and Waiau
Sheep Districts, where the road between St. Leonards
and Culverden Runs crosses said boundary.

Richmond.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of February, 1880.

Present:

THE HONORABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Supreme Court Act, 1860,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council from time to time to divide the
colony into judicial districts for the purposes of the
said Act, and the limits of such districts from time
to time to alter as occasion may require, and that the
Governor in Council shall assign every such district
to a Judge or Judges of the Supreme Court, who
shall have, within the same, all the powers and juris-
diction thereby given to the said Court:

And whereas the Northern District, as defined
by a Proclamation dated the twenty-fifth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette,
dated the tenth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine, has been assigned to
James Prendergast, Esquire, the Chief Justice of the
Supreme Court, and also to Thomas Bannatyne
Gillies, Esquire, one of the Judges of the said Court:

And whereas it is expedient that the said Northern
District should also be assigned to Christopher
William Richmond, Esquire, one of the Judges of
the said Court:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of all powers enabling him
in this behalf, doth hereby, with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, also
assign the said Northern District, as defined by the
said Proclamation dated the twenty-fifth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
nine, unto

one of the Judges of the said Court.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act Amend-
ment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor may declare his intention
to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of
any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes
named in Part II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case
of any reserves made under the authority of section
one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act,
1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or
any part thereof from the purpose or presumed
purpose for which it was set apart to any other pur.
