Land taken for a further Portion of the Railway from
Picton to Hurunui (Blenheim Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the
two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of a further portion of the railway
from Picton to Blenheim (Blenheim Section), being
one of the railways specified in "The Immigration
and Public Works Appropriation Act, 1878,"
was defined: And whereas pursuant to the one
hundred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works
has caused to be made and, on the seventeenth
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, to be deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court at Blenheim, in the
Provincial District of Marlborough, such maps and
plans as were necessary to explain the said further
portion of the said line of railway and the land
through which the same passes, and such maps and
plans were referred to in such Proclamation as afore-
said: And whereas the railway from Picton to
Hurunui is one of the railways specified in "The
Public Works Act, 1879," and the said railway is the
same which is mentioned in the above Proclamation,
and it is enacted therein that such of the railways
mentioned as are unfinished may be completed under
the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
"The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879:" And
whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken for the Blenheim Section of
the said line of railway:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred by the sixth section of
"The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878,"
and of every power and authority in that behalf, doth
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said further
portion of the said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 39 acres and 23 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Wairau West, being
portion of Section No. 37, commencing at the inter-
section of south-western side of a road by a continua-
tion of the south-eastern side of another road, cross-
ing Sections 33 and 34. Bounded-North-easterly by
a public road, 414 links; thence generally Easterly,
Northerly, and Easterly by lines, 811 links, 380 links,
542 links, and 3065 links respectively; generally
Southerly and South-westerly by a public road along
the north side of the old course of Opawa River,
2950 links; North-westerly, North-easterly, North-
westerly, and Westerly by lines, 130 links, 450 links,
1000 links, 206 links, 1400 links, 1456 links, and 368
links respectively to a public road; North-easterly
by said public road to commencing point, 291 links:
save and excepting that portion coloured green on
plan, for which due allowance has been made in the
acreage.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods and 3 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Opawa, being portion
of Allotment No. 60 of the subdivision of Section
No. 48, commencing at the south-west corner of
Allotment No. 60. Bounded-Westerly by a road,
350 links; Northerly by the old bank of the Opawa
River, 167 links; Easterly by a line, 368 links; and
[No. 18
Southerly by Allotment No. 59, 130 links, to the
commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood and 15 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Opawa, being por-
tion of Allotment No. 59 of the subdivision of part
of Section No. 48, commencing at the north-west
erly by Allotment No. 60 of said subdivision, 130
links; Easterly by a line, 301 links; Southerly by
Dodson Street, 100 links; Westerly by a road to the
commencing point, 300 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood and 25 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Opawa, being por-
tion of Section No. 48, commencing at the south-
west corner of Allotment No. 59. Bounded-South-
erly by Dodson Street, 60 links; Westerly by Allot-
ments Nos. 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, 710 links;
generally Northerly by the old bank of the Opawa
River, 80 links; Easterly by Allotments Nos. 60 and
59, 350 links, and 300 links respectively to the com-
mencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Opawa, being Allotment No. 24 of
the subdivision of part of Section No. 48, commenc-
ing at the south-west corner of Allotment No. 25 of
said subdivision. Bounded-Northerly by said Allot-
ment No. 25, 251 links; Easterly by a road, 100
links; Southerly by Allotment No. 23 of said sub-
division, 251 links; Westerly by Grove Road to
commencing point, 100 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood and 23 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Opawa, being
portion of Allotment No. 58 of the subdivision of
part of Section No. 48, commencing at the north-east
corner of Allotment No. 21 of said subdivision.
Bounded-Northerly by Dodson Street, 150 links;
Easterly by a line, 302 links; Southerly by Allotment
No. 57 of said subdivision, 115 links; Westerly by
Allotments Nos. 19, 20, and 21 of said subdivision to
commencing point, 300 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood and 11 perches, more or less,
situate in the Survey District of Opawa, being
portion of Allotment No. 57 of the subdivision of
part of Section No. 48, commencing at the north-east
corner of Allotment No. 18 of said subdivision.
Bounded-Northerly by Allotment No. 58 of said
subdivision, 115 links; Easterly by a line, 301 links;
Southerly by Budge Street, 100 links; North-
westerly by Allotments Nos. 16, 17, and 18 of said
subdivision to commencing point, 300 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 24 perches, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Opawa, being portion of Allotment
No. 56 of the subdivision of part of Section No. 48,
commencing at the north-east corner of Allotment
No. 15 of said subdivision. Bounded-Northerly by
Budge Street, 50 links; Easterly by a line, 300
links; Southerly by a line, 50 links; Westerly by
Allotments Nos. 13, 14, and 15 of said subdivision to
commencing point, 300 links.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 34 perches, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Opawa, being portion of Section
No. 48, commencing at the north-east corner of
Allotment No. 12 of the subdivision of part of Section
No. 48. Bounded-Northerly by Allotment No. 56 of
said subdivision, 50 links; South-easterly by a line, 421
links; Southerly by Section No. 47, 52 links; West-
erly by Allotment No. 9, private road, and Allotments
Nos. 10, 11, and 12 of said subdivision to commencing
point, 435 links.
