Land taken for a further Portion of the Greymouth

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hun-
dred and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act,
1876," the middle line of the railway from Grey-
mouth to Hokitika (main portion), being one of the
railways specified in "The Immigration and Public
Works Appropriation Act, 1878," was defined: And
whereas pursuant to the one hundred and twenty-
fifth section of "The Public Works Act, 1876," the
Minister for Public Works has caused to be made
and, on the twelfth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine, to be deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Hoki-
tika, such maps and plans as were necessary to explain
the said portion of the said line of railway and the
land through which the same passes, and such maps
and plans were referred to in such Proclamation as
aforesaid: And whereas the railway from Grey-
mouth to Hokitika is one of the railways specified in
"The Public Works Act, 1879," and it is enacted
therein that such of the railways mentioned as are
unfinished may be completed under the provisions of
"The Public Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and "The Public
Works Act, 1879:" And whereas the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for
a further part of the said portion of the said line of
railway:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred by the sixth section of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
of every power and authority in that behalf, doth
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described

in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said further
part of the said line of railway.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 7 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or
less, situated within Native Reserve No. 31, in the
Town of Greymouth, being Sections Nos. 209, 210,
211, 212, 213, 214, 215, and portion of Sections Nos.
205, 206, 207, 208, and the portion of right-of-way
between Sections 209 and 210, of the said reserve:
Commencing at the junction of the northern side of
the North Town Belt with South-eastern side of
Chapel Street West. Bounded—North-westerly by
south-eastern side of Chapel Street West, 2140 links
and 232 links respectively, to a point in the north-
western boundary of Section 205; South-easterly,
610 links, to the boundary between Sections Nos.
208 and 209; North-easterly by the said boundary,
322·6 links, to the southern boundary of Section No.
209; South-easterly by the southern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, and 215,
1403 links, to the northern side of North Town Belt,
aforesaid; Southerly by the said northern side of
North Town Belt, 603 links: as delineated upon
the plan marked P.W.D. 7429, deposited in the office
of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in
the Provincial District of Wellington.

Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
Dunedin, this seventeenth day of Febru-
ary, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty.
