No Slaughterhouse within Three Chains of the Road.
7. No license shall be granted for any slaughter-
house situated within three chains of any main or
district road, used as a public road.

Cattle fed and watered.
8. Every slaughterhouse shall at all times be pro-
vided with a sufficient supply of fresh water, and all
cattle confined in the premises thereof, or in any
yard or enclosure connected therewith, shall be
properly fed and watered at least once in every
twenty-four hours.

Slaughterhouses, &c., to be kept Clean.
9. Every keeper of a slaughterhouse shall at all
times keep the same, and the premises connected
therewith, and the appurtenances thereto belonging,
in a clean state, and free from offensive effluvia; and
shall cause the internal walls and doors of any
building used for slaughtering in to be scraped and
lime-washed at least once each month, and in all
respects to the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed
or to be appointed under the said Act; and every
such keeper of a slaughterhouse shall so dispose of
the blood, offal, drainage, and other refuse-matter
therefrom, that the same shall not create a nuisance,
nor be offensive to persons residing or being in or
passing through the neighbourhood of such slaughter-
house; and no such keeper shall permit any blood,
offal, drainage, or refuse-matter to accumulate in,
upon, or about the same, or on the premises con-
nected therewith, or to flow, fall, or be thrown, or
put into any river, stream, drain, or watercourse.

Vehicles to be kept clean.
10. All carts or other vehicles used for carrying
meat from any slaughterhouse shall be kept clean,
and be provided with suitable cloths for covering
any meat therein. The Inspector shall have power to
forbid the placing of meat in any unfit cart or
vehicle.

Persons employed subject to control of Inspector.
11. All persons employed in any slaughterhouse
licensed by the Bench shall be bound to obey the
reasonable orders of the Inspector.

Fees for Inspection of Cattle.
12. There shall be paid to such Inspector as afore-
said by every keeper of a slaughterhouse in respect
of cattle slaughtered therein the fees following, that
is to say: For all large cattle, the sum of three-
pence for every head thereof; and for all small
cattle, the sum of fourpence for every dozen head,
or fractional part thereof, in each week.

Inspector may forbid killing any Cattle.
13. The Inspector may forbid the slaughtering of
any animal in any licensed place in case such animal
shall not be in a fit state for being slaughtered
through disease or otherwise.

Penalties.
14. Every person who shall commit a breach of
these regulations shall, on conviction thereof, be
liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds.
