Bills, affect particular localities only. - No local Bill shall be read a second time unless
notice shall have been given of the said Bill in the
locality to which the Bill refers. - Such notice shall state explicitly the object
which such Bill is intended to effect, and shall have
been published once at least in each of three succes-
sive weeks before the second reading, in a newspaper
circulating in such locality.

Crown Lands Notices.
Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government has been
pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-
mining lease cancelled, and that the ground is now
open for application as if no lease of the said ground
had ever been applied for :--
Edward Jorgersen and party; 3 acres, District of
Grey, Nelson South-West Gold Fields. No. 221.

Certificate of Protection.

IN accordance with section 3 of "The Mines Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," this certificate of
protection for twelve months from the 19th November,
1880, to the 19th November, 1881, is granted in
favour of Thomas Lee, on behalf of the United
Inglewood and North Star Quartz-Mining Company
(Limited), for their special claim lease (No. 917B)
of 33 acres and 35 perches, at Murray Creek, Inanga-
hua District, Nelson.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Reefton on or before
the 7th day of December, 1880.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Reefton.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: George Charles Bowman. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business: "West
Coast Gold-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods,
about 100 yards below Oriental Creek, Inangahua,
in the Nelson South-West Mining District.
Applicant: Patrick Brennan. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: "Junction
Gold-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods, at Devil's
District.
Creek, Inangahua, in the Nelson South-West Mining
District.
