part of the colony described in the Schedule hereto
shall, from and after the date hereof, be and the
same is hereby constituted a district for the purposes
of "The Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1876," and shall be
named and known as the Castlepoint Rabbit District,
and the boundaries of such district shall be those
defined in the Schedule hereto: And, with the like
advice and consent, I do hereby order that the first
election of Trustees for the said district shall be held
on the sixth day of March next, at the Public Hall,
Tinui.

ALL that district comprised within the Castlepoint
Riding of the County of Wairarapa East.

Trustees under "The Maori Real Estate Management
Act, 1878."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of January, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in
any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris, who
or any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under
legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council, if he think fit, to order that such here-
ditaments, or any part thereof or interest therein, as
shall to the Governor in Council be shown to belong
to such infant, or lunatic, or other person under legal
disability, shall be vested in trustees, as the Govenor
in Council shall think fit:

And whereas by virtue of a Crown grant bearing
date the thirteenth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-four, the parcel of land and here-
ditaments described in the Schedule hereto became
vested in Urupene (Urupene Whareauahi), of the
District of Bay of Plenty, in the Province of Auck-
land, an aboriginal native of New Zealand:

And whereas the said Urupene (Urupene Whare-
auahi) died intestate:

And whereas at a sitting of the Native Land Court
held at Matata, in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, on the sixth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine, Tawhio te Kani claimed to
succeed to the said Urupene (Urupene Whareauahi)
in the parcel of land described in the said Schedule,
and it was ordered by the said Court that Te Ratana,
Te Teri, Ngarara, Ngahau, and Urupene, infants
under the age of twenty-one years, should succeed to
the interest and share of the said Urupene (Urupene
Whareauahi) in the hereditaments aforesaid; and it
is expedient that Rangimotumotu and Tawhio te
Kani be appointed trustees under the said Act, on
behalf of the said Te Ratana, male (a minor, twelve
years old), Te Teri, male (a minor, eleven years old),
Ngahau, male (a minor, seven years old), and Urupene, male
(a minor, four years old) :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the said Act, doth hereby order that the interests
and shares of the said Te Ratana, Te Teri, Ngarara,
Ngahau, and Urupene in the land described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and remain vested in

RANGIMOTUMOTU and
TAWHIO TE KANI,

as Trustees, within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, for the said Te Ratana, Te Teri,
Ngarara, Ngahau, and Urupene during their
minority.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland,
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods, more or less, situate at Matata,
in the District of Bay of Plenty, being called or known
by the name of Lot 17, Township of Matata. Bounded
on the North-east by a street 100 links wide, 200
links; on the South-east by Allotment No. 15, 250
links; on the South-west by Allotments 21 and 20,
200 links; and on the North-west by Allotment No.
18, 250 links.

Public Vaccinator appointed.

IT is hereby notified that under the provisions of
"The Public Health Act, 1876," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleaed to appoint
JOHN BERNARD WILLIAMS, Esq.,
to be Public Vaccinator, to perform gratuitous vac-
cination in accordance with the provisions of the
said Act and any regulations made or to be made
thereunder, for the District of Bay of Islands.

First Meeting of Board of Wairoa Highway District,
County of Patea.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint Saturday, the 7th day of February
next, at noon, to be the time, and the office of Mr.
F. P. Fookes, at Waverley, to be the place, at which
the first meeting of the Wairoa Highway Board
shall be held.

under the Sheep and Cattle Acts, an Inspector,
from 26th January, 1880, for the subdivisions of
the Waiau and Canterbury Districts.

Inspector Ronald Frederick Hargrave has been
appointed, under the Sheep and Cattle Acts, an
Inspector, from 26th January, 1880, for the sub-
divisions of the Waiau District.
