ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of November, 1880.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in
the Governor by "The Rabbit Nuisance Act,
1880," His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, and
with the advice of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order and declare that the
boundaries of the Tapanui Rabbit District shall
from the date hereof be those described in the Sche-
dule hereto, instead of those defined in an Order in
Council dated the ninth day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy eight.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North by the Vincent Rabbit
District, as described in Order in Council bearing
even date herewith; towards the East by the Clutha
River; towards the South by the Pomahaka River
and the Waipahi River to the Southern Trunk Rail-
way-line, by the said railway-line to Gore Town-
ship; and towards the West by the Mataura River
and the western watershed of Nokomai River to the
Vincent Rabbit District before mentioned, the start-
ing point.

*Regulations under "The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867."

WHEREAS by "The Salmon and Trout Act,
1867" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"),
it is, among other things, enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, from time to time, as may
become necessary, to make such regulations as the
Governor seems expedient for the preservation and
propagation of young salmon, salmon fry and spawn,
and young trout, trout fry and spawn, upon its im-
portation into this colony, and for other purposes
connected therewith, as is set forth therein; and
from time to time to rescind such regulations,
and substitute others in lieu thereof: And whereas
certain regulations were made for the purposes of
the said Act, and published in the Government
Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty; and it is
expedient that such last-mentioned regulations should
be rescinded, and others substituted in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance of the exercise of the hereinbefore
recited power and authority, and of every other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf,
under the said Act, do hereby rescind the said last-
mentioned regulations, published on the said twenty-
fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, and further do make the following regula-
tions, that is to say,-

  1. Fishing with fixed nets in the under-mentioned
    rivers or streams (wherein young salmon, or salmon
    fry or spawn, or young trout, or trout fry or spawn
    is placed or deposited), or at the mouth or entrance of
    any such river or stream, is hereby prohibited.

Rivers and streams above referred to: The River
Grey, the New River (in the Provincial District of
Westland), and the River Terekamau, and all tribu-
taries, streams, and waters flowing into or connected
with such rivers respectively.

  1. The term "fixed nets" in these regulations
    means and includes set nets, stake nets, and all other
    nets attached, when in use, to any fixed point or
    points.

  2. All lakes, lagoons, and other waters connected
    with or adjoining any river aforesaid, at or
    near its mouth or entrance, shall be deemed to be
    included in and form part of the mouth or entrance
    of such river.

  3. Any person committing a breach of these regu-
    lations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding
    one hundred pounds.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eleventh day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty.

Trustees appointed for Maintenance of the Pukerau
Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and au-
thorities vested in me by the second section of
"The Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," I, James
Prendergast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zea-
land, and Administrator of the Government thereof,
do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are
specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto
to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and
care of the public cemetery specified in the second
column of the said Schedule.

| same block, 1000 links; towards the East
| by a street-line, 796-7 links; towards the
| South by a street-line, 1000 links; and
| towards the West by Section No. 30 of
| same block, 796-7 links: be all the afore-
| said linkages more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eleventh day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty.
