LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
WILLIAM WOOD CARDNO, of the City of
Auckland, Accountant, having filed with me a
statutory declaration of the loss of Certificate of
Title of Lots 38 and 39 of the subdivision into lots of
part of Allotment 19 of Section 8 of the Suburbs of
Auckland, containing 15 perches, more or less,
and being the whole of the land comprised in Certi-
ficate of Title, Vol. iv., folio 97, of the Register
Book, and having applied to have a Provisional Cer-
tificate of the above land issued: Notice is hereby
given that I will comply with the above application
unless caveat be lodged with me on or before the 7th
day of February next.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that JOHN ROUGHAN,
of Lawrence, in the Provincial District of
Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, Hotelkeeper,
and PHILIP DUFFY, of Tuapeka, in the said Pro-
vincial District, Farmer, have made application to
the District Land Registrar of the District of Otago
to be registered as Proprietors in fee-simple of all
that parcel of land situate in the Tuapeka East Dis-
trict, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 2 roods
and 39 poles, little more or less, and being Section
numbered 74, Block IV., on the map of the said
district, as Devisees under the Will of DANIEL
HOWARD, late of Tuapeka aforesaid, Farmer, deceased;
and that the said John Roughan and Philip Duffy
will be so registered as such proprietors unless
caveat be lodged at this office forbidding the same
within one calendar month from the date of publica-
tion of this notice.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that JOHN MACKAY,
of Queenstown, in the Provincial District of
Otago, Roman Catholic Priest, and CHARLES
COLCLOUGH, of Cromwell, in the said Provincial
District, Mining Agent, claiming as Devisees in
trust under the Will of MICHAEL SHANLY, late of
Cromwell aforesaid, Farmer, deceased, have made
application to the District Land Registrar of the Dis-
trict of Otago to be registered as Proprietors in fee-
simple of Sections numbered respectively 29 and 35,
Block III., and 2, 3, 4, and 22, Block VI., on the
map of the Town of Cromwell aforesaid; and that
the said John Mackay and Charles Colclough will
be so registered as such proprietors unless caveat
forbidding same be lodged in this office within one
calendar month from the date of gazetting this
notice.

Tenders Invited.
TO IRONMASTERS.--WANTED 100,000 TONS OF
STEEL RAILS.
Public Works Office,
Wellington, New Zealand,
6th November, 1878.
WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at Wel-
lington by the Hon. the Minister for Public
Works up to 30th September, 1879, for the supply
of the whole or any portion of 100,000 tons of steel
rails, to be manufactured within the colony from New
Zealand ores. Payment will be made in cash on
delivery at the works-the Government of New
Zealand agreeing to pay, in addition, one-half of the
cost of the conveyance to the colony by sea of the
workmen to be engaged in the manufacture.
Information as to the mineral resources of New
Zealand, and maps indicating the various localities in
which mineral deposits are situated in relation to
means of transport, may be had on application to the
Agent-General of New Zealand, 7, Westminster
Chambers, Victoria Street, London; or to W. Walton
Evans, Esq., 66Β½, Pine Street, New York.
As it is unlikely that intending contractors will
enter into an engagement of the above nature with-
out first satisfying themselves by personal inspection
as to the position and extent of the raw material in
New Zealand required for the manufacture of iron,
every facility and information on this subject will be
