WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Pro-
vincial District of Otago described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Sche-
dule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, situate in the Town of Kaitangata, and
estimated to contain 2 roods. Bounded towards
the North by Section No. 1, Block IV., North Moly-
neux Survey District, 225 links; towards the East by
a line, 550 links; and towards the West by the Clutha
River, 600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less. As a site for athenรฆum buildings.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventh day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the second section
of "The Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," I,
Hercu les George Robert Robinson, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the
several persons whose names are specified in the first
column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to pro-
vide for the maintenance and care of the public
cemetery specified in the second column of the said
Schedule.

and 2905, 1457 links; South-westward
by Section 343 (in red), 500 links; and
South-eastward by the last-mentioned
section, 1457 links and numbered 2404
(in red) in the official map in the Provin-
cial District Survey Office, Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

First Meeting of Ratepayers of the Pakuranga
District.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by a warrant, dated the eleventh
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine, and made under and in pursuance of
"The (Auckland) Highways Act, 1874," and "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," the nineteenth
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine was appointed as the day for the first meeting of
the ratepayers of the Pakuranga Highway District:
And whereas, by inadvertence, the ratepayers of the
said district failed to meet on the day so appointed:
And whereas it is expedient to appoint another day
for such first meeting:

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I do hereby appoint the twenty-
third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, at two o'clock p.m., at the Schoolhouse,
Pakuranga, to be the day, hour, and place for the
first meeting of ratepayers for the said district, and
appoint Alfred Buckland to be the Chairman of such
meeting.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities vested in me by "The Rating Act, 1876,"
I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the person named in the Schedule hereto to be the Judge of the Assessment Courts for the
districts placed opposite his name.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.
