to Valuations under "The Land-Tax Act, 1878."
VALUATION FOR NEW ZEALAND.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of the pro-
visions of "The Land-Tax Act, 1878" (section
32), the objections to the valuation lists, and claims
for exemption from land-tax, will be heard at the
times and places under-mentioned.

At the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse, Mongo-
nui, on Wednesday, the 13th August, at 10 a.m.

arrangement.
At the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse, Christ-
church, on Friday, the 8th August, at 10 a.m.
For the District of Templeton.
At the Road Board Office, Templeton, on Satur-
day, the 9th August, at 10 a.m.
For the Courtenay, Rakaia, Lake Coleridge, Malvern,
South Malvern, East Malvern, and Upper Wai-
makiriri Districts.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Queenstown on or before
the 17th day of August, 1879.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Robert Fraser and Andrew Caldwell.
Style under which it is intended to conduct the
business: "Fraser and Caldwell." 2 acres, at Maori
Point, in the Wakatipu Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this
eleventh day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.
